Short bursts of static and/or laggy sound
(especially when there's a lot of noice going on)
but believe me I'm not sitting with a pice of
junk here. I run a 750MHz, 256 MBRAM, WIN-XP
with hercules 64MB graphics card and
Soundblaster Live 1024
(Btw sounblaster company sucks! keeping broken
drivers on website... bad form!!!).
I run NS on my CS-retail since I've lent my HL
to a friend so that he could try out NS ( <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> )
he has no problems with this although
he experienced the same with GhostRecon.
I've tried new drivers, no frivers, driving to the gas station,
changing settings (including EAX and no that's not it) but
nothing seems to work. Everything is working fine...
only NS sounds are messing up. It's playable but darn annoying.
Akanit
when I installed over HL instead of my
CS retail the sound was crystal clear....
Obviously a quirk <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
Well anyway, I guess it (perhaps)
get fixed sometime in the meantime
I'll use HL as base.
level as well.
Start, Run, Dxdiag
and then the sound tab, if you have it set all the way
up then it should run fine. Also EAX is bad, kills me all
the time.
Apart from that, check DirectX, as always. But you say
it runs with HL as a base instead of CS. Odd.
