Why Won't Powerstrip Work?

Whenever I accidently alt+tab or get IMed when I'm playing Ns, the screen gamma is either way too bright or way too dark when I re-open it. Normally I could just use powerstrip to fix the gamma, but for some odd reason It won't work in Ns. I can only guess it has something to do with the way they coded it since it works in every other application. Is there some reason they did this? It's really just plain annoying and the only way I can fix it is exiting out of the game.
Or is there any way to get powerstrip to work with Ns?
Any help would be appreciated.

I just settled with in game brightness and adjusting my monitor settings.
That works for problems with ingame gamma? I've only found it effective at solving problems with Windows gamma caused by NS, which I don't believe I've seen since 1.04.

Well, you'd expect so, since it has to switch display modes otherwise.

That never really occurred to me. Man, it starts up and quits a lot faster now.
The command is gamma. Sv_ always precedes a server-side variable (though a server-side variable is not always preceded by sv_), so it wouldn't precede this command.
Regardless, though, gamma defaults at 2.5 or so, and its maximum is 3, so its use is very limited.
Login is guest/guest. My monitor is uber dark and I have issues seeing in hera MS.
Fun stuff :/
