<div class="IPBDescription">never, for me</div> i tried some Competitive, not involving clans i can say, and never ever saw marines win once, is this normal or thats only our problem? games always end up with 4 fades and 2 onos rampaging:(
Alien ties are pretty frequent in the lower level competitive level because I don't think they know what to do. bad aim has a factor in it, but it all comes down to strategy. If they don't realize the importance of preventing the 2nd hive from going up, then they'll probably lose most of their games.
ive seen marines win heaps of times... even when they 2 clans are pretty balanced marines can win... sometimes you just need to do something unexpected, sometimes you just need to get lucky <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

which would be veil, the most marine biased map conceivable, origin which is fairly marine biased imo and tanith which every clan who plays more than once a year knows inside out.

This has mostly been covered previously in the thread, but I'll make my point anyway.
Marine ties are the norm in high tier clanplay, mostly because aim and commander skill gives marines huge advantages. Most of the popular maps being generally marine biased helps too.

It's marine biased, but not as much as others.

1.04 rines used to rape aliens on the constant
it's just a matter of where your looking <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Inexperienced clans dont know how to play marines well, 2 fade 2 res, 1 dc 1 hive is n't exactly hard to follow (heck dont even bother with a lerk). Its a matter of low level aliens being easy, and high level aliens being hard, and vice versa for marines
When don't they win for the most part? You've got enough firepower to down 2-4 skulks a clip, an additional 2 on backup, start a spawn camp with ranged ease, health from the heavens, and they've got... skulks.
Granted, good skulks can throw a wrench in the marine machine.
Still, clever rines with enough skill are garunteed to at least be a hell of a fight.
Quite a bit of success has to do with the early game. If you're quick and desicive, you'll do wonders as the rines.
Marines are typicaly/should be better than 1 hive skulks in high-end and low-end play. In high end play marines are completely aware of this and use it as their greatest window (from 0:45 to 4:00 into the game). The play is faster and the game is frequently decided within this window. In contrast lower end marine teams are slower to get started and fail to capitalize on the marine's greatest advantage, the earily game.

New competitive teams usually have strong alien games and weak marine games unless the commander knows whats going on. Once the commander is up to speed marines have a much higher likelihood of winning. Otherwise aliens have a strong advantage.

11 out of 14 clans got a 2-0 which means 11 clans won their marine round in their matches today.
Maybe that's why we lost. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
