<div class="IPBDescription">small question</div> if you purchase the dvd version of halflife 2, are you required to play with the dvd in your dvd rom, or do you just need the dvd to install the game? the reason why im asking this is because my dvd rom and my video card are running on the same power line, so if my dvd rom is in use while im playing games, my voltages and performance will probably dip.

    No you don't need the dvd in to play, just in install

    No, they got rid of CD/DVD checks, thank God.

    Also, don't worry about the ampage, it only ever read the disc when it was first starting up, after that it was loaded solely from the HDD, like all games should be <!--emo&:angry:--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    does that mean i can take the disc out of the drive now?

    i never knew that they eliminated disc checks, and the DVD has not left my drive.ever.
