Play Ns Without Buying Hl2?

Okay here's my tale.
I bought HL2 when it came out and thus I got HL1 with it , found out about NS and I have been playing it ever since.

Here's my problem: I would like my friend to play NS with me , but he does not own HL1 nor HL2 , and has no interest in HL2 whatsoever. We (obviously) can't find HL1 at any shop...and most definetly don't want him to pay 50 bucks for a game he won't play.

All in all , I wonder if there is a way to get just HL1 and NS...My first thoughts were that he could probably buy HL1 over Steam for peanuts ...WRONG. You can't seem to buy HL1 anymore , only HL2 packages.

Any help would be greatly appreciated....

If you have a credit card, I suggest using <a href='http://froogle.com' target='_blank'>http://froogle.com</a> and searching for half life 1 and you should find something under $10. You could also try buying any other stand-alone mod because afaik, you just need a cd key from any HL mod to use steam and HL1.

I wouldn't suggest getting CSr, DoDr, or CS:CZ as mods have a tendancy not to work with them (If I remember correctly, you can't install mods at all with CS:CZ or DoDr, I am not sure on CSr)
