Turret Stacking 101

<div class="IPBDescription">Class is now in session.</div> I learnt a very interesting thing today. Turrets and chambers can stack on top of each other. What does this mean? Well on NS_Nothing there is a lift called the quad lift, which is one route to the power core hive room. Noone can stop the lift from operating, but you CAN stop how far it goes down by a tactic I call turret stacking. As the name states it is building one turret on top of another turret and thus ad infinitum you can build gigantic turret structures that have no particular use whatsoever (Other than lift stopping)

My record height for turret stacking is 12 in The Great Viaduct on NS_Nothing (A nasty marine came in and ruined it before I could take a screenshot of it) However below is a shot of the early stages of the turret stack in the quad lift shaft.

I got it up to 9 levels and that lift couldn't move one inch. FEEL THE POWER OF THE TURRET STACK PUNY HUMANS!

    That's funny! You couldn't really destroy the turrets that easy because they can't get to them. Or maybe you're right. I saw one alien block a door with a turret...

    You can't shoot nades through the grate on the elevator. No way to get to it (Well there is, I'm just not saying)

    Hmm... never thought about this.

    Many people fill the corridors with turrets. That's no point seeing they don't shoot through eachothers.
    If you block a corridor you can have like perhaps 10 turrets shooting at once.

    don't do it. this should be deleted. it's an exploit of the hl engine and shouldn't be done.

    Trust me on this one Necro ... that tower wont do the aliens one heap of good.

    In fact, its a major waist or RP. Those could have been used in better places and all it will take its one marine with even a LMG and commander support to clear it out before the aliens can respond.

    Well, assuming there arn't any around the corner or such ...
