Half Life History
Hi guys I was surfing around and I found this.
Its a concieved historical timeline of the HL story based off of offical manuals, and story plots, tidbits, conversations, and pictures from the games.
They give info on world history, the combine, the combines relation to Xen, the 7 hour war between Earth and the Combine, the enslavement of Xen, the role of G-Man, the resistance, Administrator Breen etc
Its a pretty interesting read and has screenshots and things to help illustrate their points and views. Which are labeled in blue text.

into stalkers, while the captured militaries of the world have been
turned into the combine overwatch/soldiers [according to your site].
Now, the site says that this will be the last generation of humans, if
I recall correctly. However, this doesn't really make sense - why take
such a good source of labour/soldiers and only use them as a temporary
boost to the combine?
So either the combine work by only enslaving a race temporarily, until
their resources run out and they find another world to take over,
meaning that the striders/gunships/etc have not been refined much as
their stocks are running out and they're not making any more [but on
the combine models we can see v952 etc], OR, humans are going to be
reproduced [cloned, probably] to serve the combine further, like those
strange creatures we [assume to] see on the production lines in the
citadel. So humans really are going to be incorporated into the
combine world, like the striders, gunships, etc.
Yet there are not just humans converted into stalkers [slaves] - there
are humans converted into combine soldiers [the site says they're
captured human soldiers]. So humans are being used as both stalkers
and soldiers in the combine armoury, being mass produced in the
citadels.
I'm not sure why I wrote this and emailed it to you, it's just
something I was considering last night.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Not quite sure I believe that.
When they're converted into stalkers, they are kept immortal by
Combine technology. They will be slaves to the Combine for the rest of
eternity. The Combine don't need MORE humans, unless they need more
resources.

hmmm maybe thats why he didnt put that into the timeline and combine info part.
Seems to me the combine want our world for whatever purpose, resources etc. They dont care for our population anymore than they have too.
Limit our population growth, convert as many of us to police ourselves (and thus use humans to combat the human resistance rather than waste actual combine forces.)
Then use the slaves for what ever reasons than in how many years it takes for them to clean off the resources, or to accomplish their goals whatever they may be, and then ditch us or keep us for use elsewhere.
Notice they initialy tried to use Xen slaves to invade earth not combine military.
From their persective, why waste your own when you can send in converted or enslaved forces to do your dirty work for you.
And the FAQ had an odd link from <a href='http://web.mit.edu/bin/cgicso?query=gordon+freeman' target='_blank'>MIT</a>
I wonder how much Fan Mail this guy gets...
I don't think it's "stasis" as such. I believe the end
sequences from Half-Life 1 + 2 stem from the Mobius
Continuum.
Anyone who's read about Harry Keogh will know what
I mean and it makes much more sense than "stasis".
I wish I could say more but it would ruin the endings
of both games as well as several superb books by
Brian Lumley.
What happens to Corporal Shepard? Are we gonna get to see an Opposing Force 2 and see him fighting the combine prior to the surrender of Earth (before the events in HL2) cos that would be cool I reckon.
Gabe has turned that poor man into an intergalactic hero... Poor Guy
