<div class="IPBDescription">Its a me Mario!</div> Hello The topic descroption has nothing to do with this gun...
AAAnnyyywaayyy i was just in the neighbour hood when i made this gun, after thinking it up ages ago. (at least i think i did).
The scope pops up, prolly in the draw anim, Ammo is at the bottem, should be refined just trying to get the faces right.

<img src='http://img39.exs.cx/img39/2848/nsgun12ly.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

C&C Please, but dont be Super uber harsh cuz its my first major model that has taken more then a few minturs.

(Yes i know i cannot render properly and i also cannot fix those face errors by myself so i would like some way of doing it :/ booleaning always manages to feck it up.)

Try and make something for the barrel. I can see it coming out but it looks like it could bend or break really easy, plus that round surface behind it just doesn't look right with it. I guess you can make it held P-90 style and try to add some more details to the gun. It's way to bland and flat, just try and give it some small knobs or something. Plus your clip is far to small, it could probably hold like 5 bullets. I suggest doing something where the barrel is higher and the clip is loaded from the front. Also, make a bullet ejector, unles these bullet cases magically evaporate in your gun.

Its en energy cell TBH solves alot of my problems and makes it so i dont have to push myself too hard to make a good model that is great for me.
I can render properly which is annoying so you are missing out on some on the detials.

i like the pop out scope thing, think that was a new idea?
add mor curves to it, and more things at the sides i guess, basically, soup it up

well if you're going to make ur clip an energy cell, it should atleast be a bit larger. No energy cell could hold off that much energy plus your sprites wouldn't look right. I suggest just making a clip if you want to get any good at this <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I would seriously like to give some crits and comments but your model is far too undone to really comment on it. It's a flat p90 reminicent shape with a hole in it :\. Great scope yes, and you should keep working on this, but right now it looks about 40% done, if that. Work on it a bit more and I'll critique it. I suggest either changing it to the normal powder munition, or making your cell bigger, and less of just a block. Also are you doing this from your head or did you make a concept? I suggest trying a rough sketch of it first, even if you suck at drawing it's a good idea, so you can get down pact where everything is going to be on the gun.

Post a wire of the model (take a screenshot, not render). That's how we can see what's the problem with the face error. Skylight renderings usually "blurs" the model, so you can't see any details.

And hey, don't use booleans, especially when you are making a low-poly model. They usually really ruin your model. It's better to make the holes etc. with a different technique, for example cut + extrude.

Ill post a SS or before and after the boolean in wireframe?

Ive tried to delete the faces and recreate them to no good as they just reappear with the same problem.

    <a href='http://www.thrill2kill.net/web/coltrane/nsgun.jpg' target='_blank'>Purple = Weld those 2 vertices together.</a>

..And the green parts, I hope you delete them before you finish the model

Edit: uhm, and yes the holes. I suggest you do them "manually". Like I said booleans are pretty bad choice when making a low-poly model.
    Splines/Edit. Pol. tools ftw!

And yeah, what's the polycount for that box? *sigh* <img src='http://www.saunalahti.fi/kujap/nono.gif' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

i personal think this will look really good if you get a good texture to it. If you get a bad one itll look too cartoonish to me. Get a grity skin

it's chamfered on the edges yes, but it's still nothing more than a flat model with chamfers, i'm sorry but that's true. it needs variation
  • DemiguiseDemiguise Marks Servers Reg Join Date: 2004-01-19 Member: 25462Members
This is prolly not good but hey

    What do you mean variation?
I have put two little *knobs* on the side of the scope to simulate actual scopyness...
What else could i put on it?
Bearing in mind it is a Energy weapon and not a ammunition based weapon = no exit holes etc

    Vents maybe?
  • BAshhBAshh Join Date: 2003-08-26 Member: 20222Members, NS1 Playtester, Contributor
That doesnt mean your model has to be a piece of two x four that you've routered the edges of. Go look at any weapon, get some ideas, add something that isnt so flat, I have no ideas because i personally don't like what the weapon is like at the moment.
