15 turrets in one room can and still will be possible.
Hoever, it will cost. Alot.
For every turret - its one less HA, one less upgrade, one less HMG, one less Shotgun ... you get my point.
If the commander wants to spend all his RP on turrets, fine. It will just take the aliens a few minutes to clear them out, because all the marines will be left with will be pistols and LMGs.
A good commander needs to find the right balance in which things to upgrade at which points in the game, when to resupply his men and when and where to build turrets, not to mention how many.
In short, a commander who trys to use turrets as they're used now in non beta servers, will find their games to be very short, such as the commanders in the beta servers are learning.
Well if they have the third hive camped you could still take it out if you got 2 fades and maybe two gorges, the fade will easily get the turrets out of the way while the gorges heal them, also you could just storm the place, the turrets will fire at the fades and leave the gorges alone to heal them, and fades really pwn turrets with they're melee attack.
