There is zero point to ghosting. Even if we had any desire to do it to get cheap wins, which we don't, it wouldn't serve any point. You can't ghost in matches. My clan actually has a roster of 11 active people now, one of whom is a gorge specialist. If we've got seven people, he plays alien round (he is an awesome gorge) and sits marine and it sucks whole arrays of vile and fetid dongs for him to have to leave the server or sit pointlessly in RR for one of the halves.
And - look, why would you even care if you got ghosted in a scrim? "Oh look we lost a scrim to a clan that ghosts because they're complete nubs, and here we are totally punching their nuts and faces in an actual match because we scrimmed for real and they scrimmed with sad crutches for their broken and worthless souls."

Look, there should be absolutely 0 reason for not allowing people to spec unless they meet the single obvious requirement: You play that person's clan on that map. Otherwise there should be no reason to not allow a spec given all the players are in the server already. If someone ghosts, you should be amazed you did as well as you did, given they pretty much had one of the best methods available for knowing where you were and what you were doing.
Personally I've had specs in hundreds of scrims, and I don't think I've ever felt someone ghosted. I would never disallow specs in a scrim I was in, because you may help someone learn something and it costs you nothing. Scrims are nothing but practice time for your team, if the other team cheats, they cheat THEMSELVES, not you. You still get valuable practice and experience, no matter if you're the newest Omega team or the most seasoned Delta team (I've been in both and so have many of the Delta players that have posted in this thread).
New teams need to realize that specs are not evil, and 98% of them are not out to cause you grief, they simply want to enjoy the scrim the only way they can, by watching it. No one wants to listen to their team play and not be able to watch. You have absolutely 0 to lose by letting people spec, get over the paranoia.
