Just isn't a Star Wars game without hoth from a different angle
Infact, now having read the article, they've screwed up accepted fiction. The Alliance started small, and the Mon Calamaris weren't even there to begin with, and the Rebels had no fleets worth mentioning. Alarm bells are ringing to me.
Infact, I see A-Wings. A-Wings before ESB? You gotta be kidding me.
Admittedly I liked Supremacy so hope they do go along the same lines.
Hope they have interdictors for surprise ambushes in middle of fights <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

me too, i'm one of the few, that loved rebellion!
altho i've lost my cds <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
and don't **** about it till u read the article!
basically it starts pre-episode 4 post-episode 3, and there are NO missions, the article explains it better but it all depends on how u and the enemy play as such there MIGHT be a hoth or death star mission or there might not.
Looking forward to empires at war tho this level of space combat is something ive longed hoped for in star wars
*Winces in agreement*
Here's to hoping it'll be great, but let's look at well, every other SW release on PC. There's been lots of rubbish ones, a few decent ones, and about 2 good ones, ever.
(Yes, Tie Fighter, I know. Wub Wub Wub.)

<span style='color:white'>y helo thar my naem is Tychooo and i haev no seenseee of huumor, so Nem's gonna ban me if I ever do something like this again!</span>
Empire at War spans the time from Episode 3 to (evidently) Endor and beyond. Obviously the Rebels had Mon Calamari cruisers during some of that time period. Also, reading the previews, the Rebels will start off very small and weak but hard to detect, while the Empire will be very strong but the Revels can see their movements as they reposition their assets.
Necro, I don't think it's the "Rebel Army" that flies around in the ships. That would be the navy <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
And, uh, you're late. But so is everything else on these forums so meh.
They were bad **** for the Rebels.
I was trying to get a copy of supremacy but all of them were full price offers <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I must admit I didn`t bother with the space fight just overran them with more ships and let the simulation count it <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I was evil as empire though. Used to use Hit and Burn tactics. Send a big fleet to a planet, bombard from orbit and leave the planet to the rebels to support with it giving htem nothing. Muhahaha
anyhoo, about the ships, yes it MIGHT be a bit outta fiction but look at it logically, you HAVE to have it balanced, so u cant have the imperials having more ships and even then the unit choices are kinda limited.
If anyone finds a good price for Supremacy let me know <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Yes, I know this, but once again, I point out that they're using a ship which may or may not be in Episode 3, next to ships which were not present or in limited numbers before Empire Strikes Back. If those screenshots are that far through the story line, then why are those ships there?
I'm sorry for the knee jerk reaction, but I played Supremacy, and I remember how much trying to be original and innovative screwed the gameplay up a little.
Well the Mon Calamari cruisers retrofitted for fighting didn't EXIST in the early parts of the Rebellion. It was only once the Empire enslaved Mon Calamari and the Mon Calamari (the race not the planet) converted their cruise liners into capital ships that the Rebellion got ships specifically designed for them.
What?
Oh, it's another one of those Star Wars games that cashes in on previously successful designs?
Oh.

You do realize that it contains ground combate and a completely nonlinear campaign, right? And that the only resemblance to Homeworld is fighting in space, right? And that Homeworld came AFTER all the Star Wars movies and X-Wing and TIE Fighter games, right?
Thought so.
A couple things. First, it's in like Pre-Alpha right now and they actually mentioned the engine isn't completely done, so graphics should get better. Also, those Star Destroyers are similar to the ones you'll see in Episode 3, which actually are a bit smoother.
as for it being nothing new, give me ONE, ONE sw rts that was good? there have been 2. force commander and galactic battlegrounds, neither of which were good.
As for the cruisers, no franchise goes into as much detail as the real hard core fans like you know about, and i'm guessing u cant get it right away for example the article had an example where u had to steal the X-Wing prototype.
