exact message (even after A3D/EAX fix)
I have tried the fix whereby I put A3D and EAX support on, but this is still what I get (now right when clicking on join rather then when the console lifts):

A fatal exception OE has occurred at 0028:C17D7F3 in VXD AU30WAVE(01) + 00014523. The current application will be terminated.

My Specs:

Here is my nsconfig.cfg: http://members.aol.com/himuralain/nsconfig.cfg

First things first. Do you have the latest version of Directx installed? This is a known problem (ie: it is known that older versions of directx can cause an error like you describe). Try installing the latest and see if that helps. EAX is NOT recommended due to the weird things it does to the volume of sounds.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I do already have DX 8.1. But here's the good news:

I suddenly remember someone saying to change the sound acceleration from the highest to one notch above the least (none), and it solved all the problems I had been having since install, filtering and blue screens included. Just for anyone else it might help, here's exactly how:

    1. Run you dxdiag.exe (you can easily get to it using the find file program)
    2. Click on the "Sound" tab.
    3. Change "Hardware Sound Acceleration Level" to basic (one notch above the least)

Thanks to the person who originally suggested this. And everyone who's still having this problem please reply and let me know whether or not this works.

Good tip. I'll remember this whenever I respond to all the other people having the same problem.

I had the same problem too.. and heh wut did ya know I fixed it (with someone tellin me wut to do) lol and guess what.. all you had to do was update the damn sound card driver.

    http://www.vortexofsound.com/drivers/drv_m29x.htm

thats where u can get the Montego II driver. Follow the instructions on how to remove current drivers and then installing it, after you install it, the blue screen should be gone. Hope it works for you
