Are you sure the server you are connecting to has the same version that you do?
IIRC I once had a similar problem with another mod, and it appeared only on one server which was supposed to be the same version as mine. So try few different servers and if that doesn't help, try deleting your client.dll before you unistall/reinstall. Or try to use client.dll from the link below to see if that works <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Do *not* use the provided client.dll. The error is because you and the server are running two different versions of NS. Either, you need to update your NS or the server is running an older version of NS. Downloading someone else's client.dll won't help you in the least, because if you are running a different version, there are many files that differ.

Wrong forum... but o well. Anyway, my NS worked differently. I installed Steam and yada, and then beta 5. Every time a server changed maps, my NS would freeze... So then I reinstall beta4a and guess what? The map changes now work... weird eh?

That mean the server is running a version of NS that bigger or smaller than your NS version in your PC
