<div class="IPBDescription">I've written something...</div> By sheer accident or perhaps purpose, I have become the number 5 (or 6?) listing in google for 'natural selection manual <a href='http://www.google.com/search?q=natural+selection+manual' target='_blank'>(google query here)</a>'. I'm etherpunk.com
<a href='http://www.etherpunk.com/ns-manual' target='_blank'>Found here</a> -- you can also goto 'view entire book' to get a printer friendly version.
I've seen many attempts at a manual and I feel like I'm re-inventing the wheel.
I see this manual here and like it:
<a href='http://manual.nsguides.org/' target='_blank'>http://manual.nsguides.org/</a>
Thing I like:
* Basics of play (a single page someone can read and get the idea of the game -- people are lazy, but usually are willing to read a small single page... I'll be the very first to admit, I was one of them)
* Basic and detailed info for both teams
* Strats for the teams on certain maps (this is just a conglomoration of certain versions and such...)
* Server level stuff -- such as mods
My goal is to give a little bit of knowledge to anyone seeking it, but the trick is giving that type of person the amount of knowledge they want but not too much to scare them away.
I'm thinking about just posting a redirect to a place that doesn't suck.
I would really like the manual to be printer friendly... does such a thing exists?
In other words, I'm willing to give you my hits if you get me something I can propogate via treeware.
I ask this becuase I'm going to be hosting a small LAN event at a university, and I want something I can hand out.
Perhaps I should just use wget and recurse the entire document and just share it on the network?
Is it ok if I just read over all the manuals and make my own, that would consist of everyone's work? (obviously giving credit via URLS's and names)
Thoughts? Suggestions? Flames?
