This is GreyFox555. *shrugs*. Its been a long time since I have popped my nose back into the forums, ever since the ending of my playtesting time last summer. For unknown reasons...my intrest in NS has been rekindled, in a different form. In a game I play alot, called Second Life (www.secondlife.com), I can create things with an in-game modeling program. Or something akin to one. Its like a dumbed down milkshape. Even with those limits, the number of amazing, good looking things you can create are endless. I have been wanting to make a Natural-Selection based space station or cruiser, full sized. Yes, you can get them to full sized! . Inside and out. I have made a basic, large cruiser...but what I have been lacking, is textures for the walls, floors, and other things for the interior decor. I have tried my best with objects such as computer screens, and panels, but it isnt going so well. I was thinking if a gracious mapper, or community member, could send me a link, or upload NS textures so that I can use them in SL, to complete a "tribute" of sorts to NS. People have asked me about what I was building, and it always leads to a long winded discussion about NS. More than enough people have said they will check it out from the way I have presented it .
If anyone is worried about the issue of me being possibly using these textures for profit, SecondLife is a game that runs on its own in-game economy system, with Lindens (something like our $). I have plenty already, enough to upload the textures ($10L per texture, sound file, or animation). Once inside the game, you cannot rip it out from any object, or take it out of the game in any way.
I forgot to mention. SL does not use the blue screen transparancy method HL, or NS uses. It uses full alpha transparancy. Also..the textures have to be in .png, .bmp, or .jpg file format...
