<div class="IPBDescription">Anyone use them?</div> I've been thinking of getting a couple of powerline network adapters so I don't have to have ethernet cable running across the hallway for my gaming machine. However, I'm currently avoiding wireless on the gaming machine do to the additional latency and packetloss. What kind of performance do these powerline network adapters give?

I don’t know much about power line networking, but HPNA (phone line) networking works great, especially if you already have the phone jacks in place for a phone. The cards are cheap, 5-10 dollars, and there is no need for a router. Most have a connection speed of 10 mbits per second, so don’t get phone line networking mixed up with 56k. This translates into over 1meg per second so it won’t limit speeds at all.

Additionally, it does not die up phone services (caller id, blocking, and phone) in any way, and you can actually have a comp and a phone plugged into one jack if you use a 50 cent splitter.

Sorry I couldn’t directly answer your question, but I hope this helps.
