Negative, but neither were the Jaguars. The quality of the hosting city's team has nothing to do with the committee's selection of where to play their bowls.

It's called football because the ball it exactly 1 foot in lengh, it;s got nothing to with what part of the body you use on it.

    Exactly. Example: Houston.

Just think, if I had been a year older, I woulda been one of those Sousaphones on the field.

Actually Funbags, one thing I've learned from the way-too-many-foreign-exchange-students at my school is that when it comes down to it, Americans really are stuck on themselves. They tend to ignore everything the rest of the outside world does, and as long as nothing happens here on our turf, we really don't care.

    ):

On a related-to-thread note: Wow that super bowl sucked. And damn, Paul McCartny reaffirmed my hate for the beatles(Helter Skelter = win, everything else = lose). A few of the commercials were good, but not as many as last time. But the Skydiving one rocked XD

I just posted on this in another thread. A 30 second ad costs $2,000,000 usd during the SuperBowl, and normally they are better than the game itself. This year they truely sucked though, the game was boring, and the best part of it all (other than it taking place in my home town) was the halftime show by Paul McCartney. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

It's a pleasure (I think) to finally meet a person who hates the Beatles - you are the first person in all my years I have heard say that.

Me? I watched The Beatles make their American debut on The Ed Sullivan Show on a black and white tv ... meh!

Because we don't agree with their countries point of view, we're selfish bastards? We seem to have tried to help in every major conflict, so that must mean we care about it, because Somalia didn't affect the US, untill after we gave them aid and they fired at and killed 14 or 15 of our troops. Iraq invading kuwait didn't affect us, but we liberated kuwait anyways. Bosnia and Serbia didn't affect us, but we came in and helped.

All in all, we do care. We just get extra **** when it happens on our turf. Just like any other country should be.

A few of the commercials were good, but not as many as last time. But the Skydiving one rocked XD <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Nonono, I mean the American PEOPLE. Not our government. And don't give me "Were the same way" BS- thats like saying France is the same as their government. Very different entities. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
I myself don't know anybody like that. I will take your word for it, however, because there are a lot of stupid people in the world. I get defensive because I love this country, and I hate stupid people.

Hey don't leave me out...I hate the beatles, too.

BTW...even though I went to a superbowl party nobody actually watched the superbowl, we played pool and ate pizza and played poker and stuff like that. We did have the TVs on, but nobody was really interested. We also had brownies...mmmmm

How can you hate the Beatles. Seriously. Say you don't like them, sure, but saying you hate good music is just trying to sound e-cool.
