Anybody can join the freemasons provided you are a respected member of the community and that "you beleive in a god" (Find a freemasons website on google, read their "how to join" section). Personally I think that this is a very strange requirement for any organisation to have, especially one which doesnt (publicly) associate itself with any religous activities.

Just the other day I overheard "freemasons" on the TV and so I started watching and it turns out to be a BBC documentary about how Englands Cathedrals were designed by freemasons, and the layout of all our cathedrals can be traced back to 1 very simple geometric layout. Freemasons seem to have a fascination with geometry and numbers, and their influence is not just limited to England - it is apparent in most of the western world. Theres also many masonic symbols to be found in the western world - I think the pyramid on your dollar bill with the words "Nuvus Ordo Seclorum" which roughly translates to "New World Order" is a pretty damn good example!

Theres many sources to indicate that most (if not all) US presidents have been freemasons, as well as many other "important" figures in recent history. Remember that there are 33 "degrees" to freemasonry and the organisation is structured like a pyramid - where only the people on top (those of level 33) have full control & knowledge. The majority of members are ignorant as to the true nature & purpose of the "organisation".

Google is probably your best resource for reading about masons & the illuminati. If the masons truly do exist and hold as much power as many people claim, you can be damn sure that they will be putting phony information out there, perhaps trying to keep the info closely linked with "wild conspiracy theories" / information that obviously defies science. Still, I would advise reading all information you see, nomatter how wild, and make your own descisions

Another interesting society you might want to read up on is the "Skull and Crossbones" society of Yale. Your president is a member! Kerry, too. [edit-link] clicky
