Cant Stay In Game

When ever i join a sever about 5 min into playing/exploring(newbie <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> ) i get kicked from the sever <!--emo&:angry:--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> without a message please help i'v want to play this game for a while. i am running behind a firewall do i need to open an ports or anything else? I'v looked for this problem befor typing this so plz dont flame. thx.

Have you tried multiple servers? If not, try it- you may be on a server that requires Cheating Death to be installed and runing <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

If that doesn't help, let me know

Yea i have tryed multiple servers including those only two so far havent booted me one had bots as aliens and the other the marines were getting murderd i was marines both times.

You don't have to get Cheating Death. There are only one or two servers that actually require it. If you're a newbie, then you won't be accused of cheating (unless you actually are).

I usually get kicked because the server reserves slots for people (G4B2S and Voogru both do that, I believe). I'd try several servers. If you always get kicked after 5 minutes, no matter what the server is, then you've probably got a problem with your internet connection.

im running verizon DSL behind a router and have been able to play other online games without issue i tested the speed with msn and it said it was about a 1000K conection could i get booted for lag or something are there any ports i have to open?

Well becaues i used Game Spy for Natural Selection and it was sweet. I dont get kicked from any server. And most of the servers dont need Cheating Death. But now Game Spy no longer works for NS or any other Half Life mod. I have tryed to use Steam but i could not get it to work right. But now I know what the problem is. So do u use Steam?

I have found the problem, I was using a linksys router BEFSR81 v3 and aparently the firmware i had in it was not conpatible with Half-Life as a whole.
