Steam Won't Save Ns Favorites

<div class="IPBDescription">but works for every other game</div> i've just picked up ns again after a year or so break, and for the first week or so everything was working fine. just recently, though, every time i exit steam it loses all my favorites for ns. i don't have this problem with counterstrike source or hl2dm, and it used to save my ns favorites without a problem. i've tried adding servers from the steam server browser and also the ingame server browser, but either way it loses the favorites. i looked on the steam help site and it didn't really offer much help except for saying to delete some file or other which would make me lose ALL my favorites for ALL my games, which i don't really want to do. so, can anyone tell me what to do to fix this?

back up your favorites (ie copy IP addys) and deleate the file.

It doesn't save if your ns crashes on the session you saved.

well i tried deleting my serverbrowser.vdf and clientregistry.blob, but i still have the same problem. any ideas? should i try reinstalling ns?

this has nothing do do with NS, it is purley a Steam problem.

Follow these steps:

1) Open Steam.
2) Click on the "Servers" button.
3) Click on the "Favorites" Tab.
4) If the "Change Filters" button is not depressed do so now.
5) Drop down the Game menu and select "<All>".
6) RClick on en empty spot on the list and select "Add server by IP address"
7) Enter this IP address: 69.93.5.186:27015 and click "OK".
8) Close Steam.
9) Repeate steps 1-5

hmm...it shows my ns favorites if i set the filter to 'all', but not if i set it to ns. that just doesn't make any sense to me. =\

edit: oh yeah, and i tried those steps you mentioned, and yes the server was still there, but it only would show up when i set the filter to 'all'. also i just tried uninstalling and reinstalling ns, which didn't fix it. and for some reason or other, it WILL sometimes show my ns favorites on the ns filter (like 1/20 of the time), but i can't seem to find any way to get it to consistently work.

update: in the main steam server browser, it won't show ANY favorites when i set a filter for ANY game, but they all show up on the main window with no filter on. when i use the ingame server browser for counterstrike source, it saves my favorites, but not with ns.
