Yesterday I went on wnf combat server and killed lots of skulks at the beginning of a combat game on co_ulysesses. Instead of sticking with a jp/hmg build, I decided to try out the plugin upgrades to see how far I would be able to go. Before I knew it, I had lvl 5 cybernetics and was bunny hopping as a marine and reached the hive several times just as the aliens were spawning and spawned them in for as long as i could before I ran out of ammo. I went 55-12 that game because of these dumb upgrades that gave me advantages that were not meant to be in the game in the first place.
Please remove them. I'm tired of seeing turbo marines and 2000 hp onos.

When I tried the /menu on a listenserver against 5 bots, I was an HA, outrunning skulks, and my self-weld let me literally sit in the hive and knife them as they were biting me. 10 bites per second and I never died....
extralevels2 pretty well balances the upgrades between the 2 teams.

Agreed - my server STAYS full.
You obviously have limited your experience with extralevels2 to a select few upgrades. Give me an onos with level 5 thickened skin, bloodlust, and hunger and I will PWN any 2 marines on the map.
I encourage players who first try this plugin to try ALL the various upgrades, over and over, even the ones you think suck. Increase the cost of Cybernetics to 2 points, and you won't see so many bunnyhoppin rines out there.

But I agree, the marines are overpowered. The aliens need something like what is described above, or increased regen rates.

It's hard enough to find servers with extra upgrades and plug-ins, don't discourage people from putting them on their server. Some people actually enjoy them, myself included. If you were able to do so well you should probably look into playing against higher caliber players instead of complaining about upgrades.

The one plugin that pisses me off the most is the plugin that puts lerk spikes back in IN THE FIRST WEAPON SLOT. This means that I can't quickswitch from umbra to bite to take down a jetpacker if I'm defending the hive (among other times). If you've got to have it in, put it in the fourth weapon slot, because you rarely have to switch to primal scream quickly.

Unfortunately there's just not enough space to place all of that in your server's name. I recommend HLSW to check the server's rules before joining. Worth noting: make CERTAIN the extralevels2 is the latest version 1.7g as earlier versions could be exploited. Last I looked (yesterday) there were 260 downloads of v1.7g for amxmodx.
The beauty of this plugin is it's totally configureable. It's highly unlikely the author of this thread could have achieved the same results on my server, because Cybernetics costs 2 points a pop.
The lerkspike plugin I use has it in the second slot with spores. I doubt it would take much work to change any of them to the slot you want.

Staticfield works quite well BUT it costs 2 points a pop also.
Staticfield is an "electrical charge" so to speak that the marine upgrades to (etherealtracking required, which requires motion) which does damage to alien health when they come within range. but i agree to the stated imbalance, especially if some admins dont care about balancing their server, allow more than 5 lvls and set the gametime to high.
Lvl5 Static Field is the pwn and i doubt that u could counter this in any way.
Thick. skin doesnt add as much health as is lost due to static field. Moreover it disables regeneration and with its overpowered range aliens around the hive are **** up if the marine is close to the hive(room).
I've changed the plugin some weeks ago for a friend's server and i decreased its range and the thick. skin hp were not effected by static but added to the reduced base hp. That works quite well.
I hope, cheeserm will fix the bug soon, that any player spectated by yourself uses ur static field. Thats quite imbalancing.
To the best of my knowledge this bug was addresed a while back. Check modNS.org and ensure you have the latest version.
I have not found staticfield to be a problem (at 2 points a pop) on my server however. pSyk0mAn's modification also would help if you have issues with it.

the WnF server only has one plug in that makes it so that No one can get a GL or go ONOS

we had a few high caliber players on our team and we lost to one guy with cybernetics/hmg that game on co_kestrel.
Unknown Worlds doesn't even MAKE server plugins. At the very least, this should be in Server General Discussion.
