Fileplanet Everquest 2 Trial
<div class="IPBDescription">Open for all!</div> FP is now allowing all members (read: not necessarily subscribers) to download and try out Everquest 2. Check the main fileplanet page. I'm signing up to <s>compare the hawtness of the dark elves to those of WoW</s> because I would really like to see whether the gameplay warrants a purchase or not. Where's that image of Quagmire when you need it?

Endless amounts of enemy-killing per day just to gain a percent of a percent of a level at the higher numbers?
SOE is afraid of Blizzard. Very afraid.

you do that in wow
Umm, they opened it to the public.
Considering that the game retailed with a bajillion CDs, how large is this download?
they just created an honest to god DEMO for an MMO!
I realy am liking the idea <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Everytime I start the game it tells me "Login rejected: the client's version does not match the server's. Please re-run the updater.", so that's what I do. It updates some stuff and when I try to play again I get the same thing...
Just as a test I checked "Autoplay" to see if it would do anything, and the next time I started the launcher "Autoplay" was unchecked again. I guess this means that it's not saving anything, anyone know what's going on? I've tried all the stuff on the updater but it doesn't seem to be doing anything...
That's freakin AWESOME. I wish WoW had that. I'd never be hungry again!

I don't know whether that's freakin' awesome or horrifying. Can I call it freakawehorrsomifing?
It's obviously a marketing tie-in ploy, and Pizza Hut probably paid to have the command put in... but the amount of sales they'll garner from it will be astounding. Well, if the EQ2 geeks still have any money left after a couple of months, anyway.
What would be really cool would be a /pizza command that you could pre-set a URL. I'd rather go for Papa John's, myself. ^_^
(Er... and give it to me in FFXI or ROSE.)
I have seen the future, and it works!
I, for one, think it's a good thing. You can cabrill all you want about "oooh, funcom is getting scared because of WoW, their sales suck so they gotta do something desperate like this," but do you really enjoy paying $50 so you can try one month of a game free, and then get stuck with the purchase if it turns out you dislike the game? I sure don't, and I don't enjoy waiting a year for a 7 day trial POS to come out either. Who can tell if they will like all an MMORPG has to offer in 7 days? And after that, if you do like it.. hey, you have to buy the box anyway.
