<div class="IPBDescription">Other forumite fans?</div> Just wanted to find other people to talk about Wrestling with (WWE). Figured there have to be at least a few fans on here who are really into it. This thread is for people who <b>enjoy watching wrestling ONLY</b>. If you're just going to come in here with that tired old "lol sweaty men and it's fake u know" crap then leave and don't let the door hit your **** on the way out.

I'm EXTREMELY excited that Batista is going to be on Smack Down tommorow. I can't get enough of this guy. I hope that for some reason John Cena gets a nice big Spinebuster followed by the Sit Down Powerbomb, on the concrete.

Who's everyone's favorites and what do you think is going to be happening in the near future?

I'm hoping no roster switches for a while because RAW and Smackdown are such different styles of show I think it could really screw things up at the start.

I used to watch it. I really enjoyed seeing the wrestlers clothesline each other and spin in the air. I also liked it when one wrestler would try to punch the other, but the second wrestler would dodge the blow and position himself behind the first wrestler, get him into a full nelson hold and slam the first wrestler into the mat.

I don't like wrestling at all, instead I will tell you all about my very ****ed up dream that I had last week:

I dreamed I was back in my high school auditorum. There was a school assembly and so everyone was there. They were having Wrestlemania on stage.

Then Hulk Hogan comes out, and he sits down right next to me.

We start talking and I say "You know, you may not remember me, but we've met before." (note by doom: I've never met Hulk Hogan) and then Hulk says "Oh yeah, I remember you. Say, do you know Trey Parker and Matt Stone?" (note by doom: those are the creators of South Park) "Well, they have a Linux server, and I think you should make something happen to it."

And then I woke up and said "What the ****???" outloud. Several times.

...

I don't watch Wrestlemania...
I don't think about high school...
I don't know or care about Hulk Hogan...
I don't watch South Park...

What the **** was up with that???

I used to enjoy it. It was sort of fun watching.....until my elder brother started pounding me.....seriously. He did the the Walls of Jericho on me countless times and I didn't feel anything.

But once, he almost broke my neck, and that's when I stopped watching wrestling....or more like, my mom told everyone to stop watching it =X

I catch it now and then... To me wresling is a little like fishing for dimonds in sewage (game purchasing is the same deal for future referance), most of the time it is bland boring and unremarkable, but every once in a while you see something that makes you go "WTH, I can't belive he just did that without dying". Most of the characters are utterly and increadibly one dimentional and easy to get bored of, and generally the characters who are acctually entertaining as actors are terrible wrestlers/athletes (of course they still win alot because they are popular, but the matches are never that increadible).

Wrestling is ok as far as I'm concerned, but I'd really prefer kick boxing or UFC (boxing is ok too sometimes, but it often is moving too fast to really see what is going on).

i spoil wrestling, sd is my fave show, but i always catch the report of it early on rajah's so yeah, i already know what batista does, and its not definate he is going to smackdown, the rumour is he will be staying with RAW, they cant turn down the trips/batista feud...

the best thing about the WWE? apart from the doctor of thuganomics (and hurricane!) is definately batistas spin ebuster, the one where he picks them up way higher then 7 ft (he is like 6'6 himself i think) and just power slams them so hard.. i mean we as fans all know its like a soap opera for us meatheads but damn.. the power of that guy...

you know they wrote puder out already? having him job to hardcore holly :/

also am i the only one who thinks kane has got fat. thats why they had to take his top part away, cos he is lookin so chunky, i didnt notice till i saw him sit up in the coffin at the rumble... (although that bit was AWESOME)

Things to love about WWE:

Edge (SURELY his World title reign isn't far off?)
Christian (I just wish he'd beaten Shawn Michaels in their mini-feud)
Angle, Benoit, Guerreros, Jericho, Mysterio (nothing new on their horizons, but they're still legends. Mysterio to be the first cruiserweight WWE champion?)
Trish Stratus (greatest women's wrestler ever, based on looks, persona and wrestling ability)
Evolution (Batista's finally getting into his stride, Naitch is as great as ever, and Triple H (like it or not) IS Raw)

Things to hate about WWE:

Snitsky and Heidenreich, sitting in a tree ("I like you John!" - Caveman, yesteday)
JBL (OK, his mic work is really great, but I just cannot abide Bradshaw being the champion. It's not something I'll ever accept)
The death of tag team wrestling (granted, no team will ever match Edge & Christian, but when was the last time anyone cared about a tag title defence?)
The death of Chris Jericho (I'm truly fed up of seeing him job to everyone. When was his last World title shot?)
Raw Diva Search / Smackdown Tough Enough (seducing Kamala? Oh God.)

Well to be fair flint Jericho had his shot at New Years Revolution.

I definatly agree that noone will ever top Edge and Christian. But while they're my favorite tag team of all time I can't stand what they've become now. Christian can still make me laugh but he's just not as hilarious as he used to be.

I absolutely HATE watching John Cena's matches because every week it's a 1 sided crap fest. Like he doesn't know how to share the stage with his opponent.

Jbl is friggen awesome. I love watching him talk to Carlito while he was "all hopped up" on tranqs <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' />

That being said

Carlito is GREAT! Did you see that over the ropes elbow he laid on Cena in his first match? They play it out now like Cena walked all over him (which wouldnt' have surprised me) but he got in enough shots to make it a pretty back and forth fight.

Oh, you're a mark. Sorry, I'll explain properly.

A "proper" title shot is not a 6-man elimination match with no Y2J pre-match hype. There was NO chance of Jericho winning that match.

A "proper" title match is a match where the man who's about to receive the title is built up in a major way in storylines and promos preceeding the match itself. Jericho won the <b>UNDISPUTED</b> title all those years ago after a major buildup with Rock. He won the match by defeating Rock and Austin in the same night. They've never given Jericho anything like that since.

Edge and Christian are still brilliant, just for different reasons. Edge has dropped the forced face act and has taken a page from Foley's book, in that he's a heel who believes in everything he's saying. He's not a liar; he's been screwed out of the World title every time. He's been deserving of a shot for years. It's his time and the big dogs aren't making way for the future. It's not fair.

Christian seems forever on the edge of a major heel push. As I said, I thought it'd come around with his Shawn Michaels feud (relating himself and Tomko to HBK and Diesel was great stuff), and I couldn't believe that HBK was allowed the victory. It's easy to say that some people aren't destined for the main event, but now you can just look at Bradshaw and realise that anything can happen.

Carlito is a fantastic character.

As I said, JBL's mic skills have improved by leaps and bounds, but he's one of the worst mid-card performers the company has. He'll never be worthy of the heavyweight title.

and speaking of jobbing? what about Kane.. the big red monster, i mean i remember his debut... and his afteryears, he was FEARED.... the taker still has that fear.. but nobody respects kane, i mean snitsky?! snitsky is a talentless gimp, although his physique is stunning he sucks at fighting, and pulling off moves..
Remember a few weeks ago, when kane slammed him off the stage, snitsky was TALKING to kane saying 'nice one' when the cameras got to them, its not very professional....

Years ago I saw Andre the Giant make his debut against Taru and Tanaka, a Japanese tag team that PWNd. Andre slapped them around like flies ... lol. Andre` also picked a fan up out of the crowd and tossed him into the ring a good distance. Staged? Probably, but STILL one helluva athletic feat.

I miss the old days of wrestling, with Haystack Calhoun, **** the Bruiser, Seaman Art Thomas (with his infamous cocoa bomp) etc. There was much less showmanship and much more athleticism.

That being said, I wrestled in high school many moons ago and, well, WWE just isn't wrestling. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused-fix.gif' />

The elimination chamber comment was supposed to be a joke. My lack of alertness and beer intake messed up what I was trying to convey <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' />.

Edge probably does believe what he's saying that doesn't make it any more interesting to listen to. As a heel I'll say he's doing an excellent job because I can't not hate the guy.

I'm really happy about Funaki being NUMBER ONE cruiserweight champion at the moment though. He's not particularily great or anything, but I just like the guy. He's put in alot of time and is pretty deserving.

If someone could, explain to me the appeal of Rey Mysterio, I just don't like him and don't see the fuss. The only time I like him is when he's in a match with Kurt which is always exiciting as all get out.
