Mp3 Players

Well it turns out I am going to Hawaii this spring break (from Chicago or Milwaukee) so it’s going to be a long trip and I am not up for burning enough CD's to make the trip. So I am here to ask the NS forums what are good mp3 players. It would need at least 20 gigs as I have about 14 gigs of music. A long battery life when being used fully (like more then 6 hours would be nice.) A color screen would be a plus as well. Weight isn’t really a problem and neither is size (well ok with in a reasonable size but it doesn’t need to be super small). The price isn’t really an issue but under $600 would be a plus. So if anyone has any recommendations it would be nice if you could post them.

I have an iRiver H320, and I love it. Great sound quality, color display, and I don't have to use any damn software to get my data onto it. Reliable, too. I strongly recommend it as an alternative to the iPod, as its quality easily matches it (and it plays .ogg files!).

My suggestion would be the Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra. Its battery life is about 14h and has excellent sound quality. It comes in various sizes (20, 30, 40, 60GB) and can double as a portable hard drive. Its a little bigger and heavier than the iPod but its also much cheaper (over $100 cheaper for the same size). As far as color screens go, they really aren't necessary for anything. Don't bother.

<a href='http://us.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=213&subcategory=214&product=10795' target='_blank'>Creative Zen Micro</a>. I hear good things. Besides, its smaller than the iPod Mini and holds a gig more.

For a trip I would recomend the Creative Zen Touch, which has a 24 hour battery life, which I believe is the most out of all the hard drive mp3 players. However, it is rather large and clunky compared to something like the Rio Karma which has only 16 hours of battery life and only comes with a 20 gig HD, but has more sound quality than you can shake a stick at and fits into any pocket quite well, plus if your mp3 collection has some .ogg mixed in the Karma can play 'em. If you REALLY gotta have the color screeen, go for the iRiver I guess.

Its kickass and glows blue. But he wants a 20gb one, its only 5gb. Well, mine was last time I checked. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
