Homosexuality And Life And God

<div class="IPBDescription">Well... what's the big deal?</div> I have a question- why does everyone make such a big deal out of Homosexuality? I personaly find it Vulger and Disgusting... but I look at it like this- You can go have yer issues somewhere else... leave me the hell alone. I don't care if you like TURTLES for fracks sake, just don't look at me like that ever again.

Now, the problem is, is it not against God? I mean... it just seems to me like it's a tad... I dunno... unnatural? I mean c'mon... if guys were supposed to f*** other guys, we'd have been made differently... same thing with women... but men and women are how they are for a reason... guys and girls were designed and evolved specficly to improve and better the human race- that is, the strongest genes get passed on, while the weaker ones get phased out. Homosexuals don't follow that trend... quite the opposite- they will most likely adopt someone if they ever, Ever wish to have a child, and that kid will more than likely learn from his/her parents... as most kids do... I know that if my parents were ****, I'd be very embarrassed... but that's my opinion

So I want to know-

1) HOW did this start? Did some dude wake up some day and say "Ohh, I see a sexy man! I wanna be wit him foreva!!! *squeal*"

2) HOW are homosexuals attracted to the same sex? I can look at a good looking guy and say "Damn... he's handsome..." but that's not a loving way- that's just admitting that he's a good looking guy (which I wish I was... I'm just kinda joe schmoe average)

3) Why do some Homosexuals hang out with just the opposite sex? (**** guys hanging with straight girls for example) It's just... disturbing... sometimes... I'm sorry but it really is...

4) Just what are your religious views on all this? I believe it goes against the word of God, but I'm not all that holy so I can't quote any passages or anything, but isn't homosexuality a sin? If not, *shrug* dunno what I'm thinkin of then

    1) Why are straight people attracted to the opposite sex? we just are. Most homosexuals can't tell you WHY they are attracted to the same sex (out side of pointing out aplealing characteristics of poeple)

    2) See One

    3) Stereotypes are not real.

    4) I have no religon, mabey that is why I am so accepting.

These debates are always difficult because they're argued in such black and white terms.

Homosexuality itself has been around for ages. For some it was the norm. Plato himself didn't believe that the love between a woman and a man could equal that of a man with another man.

The truth be said, sexuality is not hardwired. If it was related to DNA it would be safe to say that the same kind of person your father was attracted to, would be almost the exactly same person your attracted to, like an inheiretable trait (since it would be genetic). To say this is ridicoulous. Why do you like blonds, and your brother brunettes? Who knows? These things are shaped by much more complex mechanisms than we can understand.

As far as the idea of God or the practical nature of our bodies, there are a lot of different things on our bodies that have absolutely no use.

If your going to site the unatural physical nature of homosexuality then you should also site the unatural physical nature of, I don't know, our appendix. or perhaps our tonsils. Even now some doctors recommend having men remove their prostate prematurely as a precaution against the chance of cancer.

These are all body parts with minimal, if any function, yet our bodies still have them.

Yet, there is the possiblity of homosexuality having something beneficial that we may not see. For example, you may be aware of a genetic disease called sickle cell anemia.

This disease is genetic, and unless paired properly spells very possible death to the person who has it, yet it still exists genetically. Wouldn't evolution or God weed this out?

Not necessarily, you see, sickle cell anemia helps prevent the infection of Malaria, a disease that still exists (not around here) but is easily transmitted by insects. So despite the fact in this country if you have it you may very well die from it, in other countries if you have it (in the proper recessive/dominant pairing) it can easily save your life from Malaria, a once common killer.

The point is, just because on the surface it seems worthless or a detriment, it may not necessarily be so.

I still maintain that if men were forbidden to have sex with other men by god, they wouldn't have been born with prostates.

Also, just because you don't like something, doesn't mean it should be banned. I don't get to ban Squid from being sold because i don't like the taste, or ban AvengerX.

This is a bit close to the last 'homosexualifty, good or evil' thread, which was just closed.
Give it a rest for a while.
