I start the game... no problem
i join a server... slowly, but it get's there
when i'm in... it sounds like the speakers are underwater or something, and the sound is played with an extremly high speed...
then... i disconnect from the server, and the computer reboots
if i stay in-game... the computer reboots anyway

Make sure you audio card drivers are updated, then reinstall NS, see if that solves it.

The underwater sound is caused by the sound settings. Disable EAX and A3D in NS's Audio tab in the settings menu option.

I don't know what causes the disconnect and reboot. Does the game play fine for a while before disconnecting/rebooting or is it laggy/low fps or does it disconnect/reboot instantly?
