Not as addicting as a good game with a bit more depth. WoW for instance...

I'm allergic to lag, but also idiocy. Therefore when I play diablo 2 it's offline.

Yeah played D2 like the 2nd year from when it came out. I got bored of it after it's all about PKing and baal runs.

WoW is better. Waaaaaay better.

WoW endgame is very Diablo-esque, just do endless instance runs hoping to score an elite or sit around and gank in PVP areas to no purpose. Can't wait for Battlegrounds, and some more raid content.

Yeah, I used to play online a lot too. A little bit too much, though, do I ended up getting rid of all my characters and stuff.

One day, I just realize it's not fun doing nothing but Rush, Rush, Rush, Cow, Cow, Cow, and getting smack talked by a 12 year-old because I'm apparently a newbie for not spotting the Unique Mesh dropped by the boss I killed.

First of all, he was a rogue, which is the one class that can level significantly faster than the others. Second, he had played the beta extensively, so he knew where all the best grinding spots were. Third, he didn't complete very many quests, because they don't have very good xp/hour compared to grinding. Finally, the average player can't do that. I can't do that.

600 hours = 75 days, playing 8 hours a day. That's how long it would take me to hit lvl60. That's why I quit wow.

Most likely it was a geek squad of several people whose sole goal was to level to 60 mind-numbingly fast. That's hardly normal activity.

He claimed that he was the only one to play that character. I don't doubt that it's possible. He and his clanmates were the first ones to reach the higher level areas, so they could grind there without worrying about anyone else killstealing.

Well, it's possible, yes. I got to level 30 on a rogue with less than 3 or 4 days playtime (not real life days, actual time spent playing), so if you figure that getting from 30-60 takes twice as long then add in a few hours every day for sleep it makes sense. I did a lot of quests too, and didn't know grinding spots, and spent a lot of time just exploring or wandering. Sitting down and grinding is boring but it gets the "job" done.

Classic games never dies, and there is still many who is playing D2 anyway.
I played D2 like 2 years and really got bored when i had played all characters.
But still, the game is great and i had a fun moments.

I like playing with the D2 Classic (no LoD) community. Less jerks and there are people who are willing to complete all the quests without rushing. Sadly, I don't have D2 with me because it's too addicting.

I beat the game about 3 times.

with in 2 days...

each time my game didn't save (as I had forgotten to unwrite protect my saves after backing them up)

Sorta burned out on the game after that.

untill I got to play an assasin. now when ever Iplay again I can't play anytinhg exept assassin as everything else is WAY to slow

I have 2 cd drives, and the diablo 2 cd's. However my cd drives are out of order. So, I get handy tips on IRC to use daemon and cd images etc etc.
But for some mysterious reason even the daemon fake drive shows up as "error with driver" in the device manager.

I hate having to reinstall windows.

I never liked Diablo 2 at all. It was dull as hell, and nothing more. I guess I expect RPG's to have more. Spoiled by not playing console RPGs.

Ive played alot, but thing I remember most is finishing the game 2 days before the stores got it...got it from a leak spreaded on Mirc.

I never tried online although.
