<div class="IPBDescription">smoothing groups messed up?</div> [solved]
the imported model consists only of polies that are not linked.
in 3dsm: convert to -> editable poly -> vertex mode -> select all verticies -> weld (0,1) -> done

im currently trying to import some smds in 3dsmax because i want to render another wallpaper.
on my <a href='http://v29a.homelinux.net/gallery/view_photo.php?set_albumName=NaseWallpaper&id=marines05' target='_blank'>last</a> one all those models looked really "boxy" <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> (i imported the smd with "SMDImporter" a n additional script for 3dsm)
now i read something about "importing messes with smoothing groups" and tried to export in 3ds from milkshape instead of importing smd directly.
looks much better but i am missing the bones to adjust the model correctly in 3dsmax.
anyone got an idea how to fix this?
