Is There A Form Of Employment That Can Rival Ps

<div class="IPBDescription">By PS i mean Public Service</div> Yeah... basically what the title says. Do you think, in any likelyhood, any kind of career can rival working for your country in any way. To remind you, public service doesn't just involve being a soldier, sailor, or pilot, It's very diverse, after some indulgance i've found that there's an opposite end to the scale. Occupations such as Councellors and psychologists are employed by most western and far eastern governments as a way of harderning their social standards. What I want to know is, would you rather serve your country, or be privately sponsored to commit to your job.

I don't many people actively look for a government job unless they're politicians or soldiers. Some teachers look for a public school position because it pays more, others look for a private school position because the students are usually nicer. Otherwise, you take the jobs that you can get, in the fields you want to work in.

There is definitely more money in the Private sector. I suspect most people who specificially go after Public sector jobs are looking for job security more than anything else.

Whether my job helps my country in any way is pretty irrelevant to me. I just aim to find a job I like. I don't care whether it's a government job or not.

Nothing beats being a construction worker on a government contract. The pay is great (when I was working for the government my pay doubled), and the benifits rule more than life.

But that's evil. That's why the government is so much more inefficient than the private sector. The government should pay less because taxation is oppression!

taxation is oppression? everybody should be paying tax, then it isn't oppression. Everybody who's a citizen and meets the qualification at least. Even Tony Blair and George Dubya have to pay taxes, even if it doesn't matter to them.

Just because everyone pays a tax, doesn't mean it isn't oppression.

I don't believe taxation is oppression. I must have forgotten my [sarcasm][/sarcasm] tags, because I was imitating the libertarians here.
