How To Force "boost Mic Gain"

Hey guys. In my steam options, in the mic options, is there a box to put boost microphone gain". so i check it and everything's good. The sometimes, it just unchecks itself and i have to recheck it. really bothers me because when i talk i never know if people can hear me. is there anyway so that it stays checked?

I've had settings change themselves quite often. It only happens, however, during the same session that I changed them AND if the game crashes.

Easy way around Steam from resetting your settings without you noticing. Just recheck them every now and again.
