haven't done any mapping in ages and then I got this urge again, so I decided to do some cosmetical updates to my co_futile <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

new:
- tweaked hive a bit. added new vent and tore walls apart
- marine start slightly tweaked, hopefully fades won't pwn so much now.
- cosmetic changes here and there
- vents redone (again. really, start creating more interesting vents than just 4 brushes thrown together <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> )

maybe I should start finally mapping ns_ version out of this <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    It's nice. I love the lighting in the map, and the originality and concept. Only one fault with it is I find the marine spawn needs to be a bit more alien friendly, quite easy for an Onos to block entrances.

    brill map uffo, I love your style, lighting rocks, nice and dark. vent system as you know is excellent and very unique.. but. . .
    I find that the ms and hive is very cramped, the ms has a very low ceiling,
    hive is not very open,i know openess is a bad thing for aliens but I think it could be a wee bit more open,thats just me.

    Also I got stuck here and couldnt get out.got stuck and started bobbing up&down??

    It's the diagonal of the wall on the left, which is too steep to be clibable, and therefore pushes you down. Because you never reach a surface where your vertical movement componant can reach zero, you can't jump and can't get out.

    still got stuck, but thats a nice fancy way of saying it. might use it some time. . .if you dont mind.

    that's odd, I've always got away from where you're stuck. You aren't just jumping correctly <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
    and the hive thingy, I'm having slight problem with keeping r_speeds low so there has to be walls here and there. or did you mean the area where the hive entity itself is? that could be done larger.

    If we made maps for ourselves, our job would be a lot easier. Remember that you have to cater for ppl like Moconnor who haven't got the leet jumping skills that you do.

    That looks uber sw33t! Dude, I think the parts that are working best at the infested regions. They look hella good! I also like those two pipes at the back in the first image, just beneath the door. Do those pipes lead anywhere?

    I kn0w what you mean about loosing inspiration for a long while, and then getting the urge again, I am currently redoing an old map to get it release worthy. Let's hope our creativity stays eh:D

    crapnation, you were right. it does get stuck :/
    wonder why it does it now and not in older version, I haven't changed anything in there.

    Did you change the CSG clipping mode? (precise, normal, etc) That's something which might affect that area.

    yeah, I tried with -precise, that was the fault. and the getting stuck bug's now fixed. thanks for pointing it out <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
    and I added some space for hive, modified little MS and tried to lower r_speeds a bit, but they're still problem at certain areas. funny thing also that they were somewhat ~500-600 tops in the original version.

    the download link is up again. and the first version's been playtested, but would be glad if someone could run this on their servers and tell how it plays <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
