<div class="IPBDescription">Natural Selection v3.0</div> Hi.
When I'm playing at Natural Selection v3.0, with these specs :

1280x1024
75 Hz
32 bits color
and my 9600XT - Catalyst 5.2

and when I turn my point of view from right to left or the reverse (woth a more or less "brutality" way), a "bar" of 3 or 4 cm (1.18 or 1.58 inches) is displayed and "move" from the top to the bottom of my screen. And it's the only game which do that.

When I set up my OpenGL quality in Catalyst 5.2 on "HIGH", this "bar" don't come back (It's here with "MEDIUM" quality).

If you have an idea... maybe the game, maybe me, I don't know.

Thanks.

EDIT : I've not this bar with Day of Defeat.

    Is this bar white? Are there blue stripes on it? If so, that is the progress bar, shown when you are being digested or gestating. I've never heard of this error before though. Try to reinstall, see if that works.

    sound kinda like a refresh rate issue

    turn of vsynch (from your gfx control panel in windows)

    should help <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    If it's really that kind of stuff, it would rather be turning ON the vsynch.

    isn't vsynch what causes tearing effects?

    hmm, I guess it probably isn't the vsynch thing, tearing looks differently then what he described....

    play with your refresh settings...

    Well, I will try to explain you what did happen.

    It's not a colour bar. It's a bar which is composed by pixels which modify the display of the game like that :

    <img src='http://picserver.student.utwente.nl/view_image.php/051Q1ODZW3B9/picserver.jpeg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

    I've to that very quickly, and it's not really the same with NS, but the idea is here. I will to screenshot with the ingame function :/

    VSync is always OFF on my computer. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    VSync turned ON and all is okay. But I don't have to turn ON the VSync to don't have problems in DoD <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    That would be a texture corruption, somewhere in the card's texture RAM. Which could be caused by failing TexRAM, or just a corrupted signal to the card. Seeing as you turned on vsync, and the problem goes, then it suggests that your montior might not be capable of displaying at the speeds that the card is outputting, keeping vsync on will correct the problem.
