Comments
check for mal ware (spybot, adaware, msoft antispyware, avg etc etc etc)
just general ideas.
try some sys specs also, might help us
asus p5gd2 delux / pentium 4 CPU 3.00GHz
MSI radeon rx600xt
2 GB of ram
ok i ran norton and ad-adware and came up with nothing and it's still doing it, i did notice that under my properties i have direct 3D as my 3D setting and i run ns under open gl would that have any effect, and all these same settings worked before i upgraded.
The above page has a whole load of drivers for you to choose, I'd recommend 5.3 with Catalyst Control Centre (CCC). Try those, then try NS again.
Drivers for your motherboard are located here (Link to Asus Download area, Final drivers only). Download, and install those, then see if it cures itself.
Also, is your PC show the same symptoms in any other game/high drain application?
thanks
Reinstall your drivers again but this time use DRIVERCLEANER Be sure to read the README.
You just got this computer?.
Well, from the last post I´m leaning towards some hardware malfunction. As it is getting progressivly worse it sounds like a bad weld somewhere on the motherboard or perhaps in the powersupply. I got the same symptons after a powersurge fried my motherboard. Seemed ok at first and then it just got worse by the day.
I suggest you return it to the store for service. The warranty is still good is it not?
In case the warranty is not good, do this.
Take your videocard and test it on a friends computer.
If the videocard works then the next step would be to get a new power supply, they don´t cost that much (perhaps your friend could lend you his for testing).
If thats not it then the last step would be a new motherboard.
Good luck.
DO NOT take your powersupply and test it on a friends computer.
If thats the problem it might nuke his motherboard too.
Just in case....
Is the system in an enclosed space, ie a computer desk/table. If so, try it outside of the desk. This solved the problem of one ATi R9800Pro user. If this fixes the problem, then it is due to overheating.
I would be loathe to take your card round a friends house, and try it in their PC. Try getting another card tested in *your* PC, as all that would be changed is the graphics card. When troubleshooting hardware problems, you need to change as little as is humanly possible, as the problem may not be directly down to the graphics. You may have a faulty AGP slot, or a problematic Northbridge. Just because the fault is showing in the graphics, doesn't necessarily mean that it is the direct fault.
Thanatos, most stores will be very reluctant to warrant a fried graphics card/motherboard/system, without sending the part back to a supplier/manufacturer for their final testing. If the supplier/manufacturer will warranty the part, then the store most probably will furnish you with a replacement/credit/refund, depending on the store policy. *DO NOT* push for a refund, especially if you have been explained the returns policy. Accept your replacment, or credit, and be happy that you even got it.
