A triple jump script is uneeded unless you have low fps, I needed it on my old pc to bunnyhop with below 30fps but with >70 fps its unneeded. (also isntit annoying having it bound to space then lerking?)

The only harmful script (if mousewheel bound jump is the norm) I can see is the pistol script as it takes away some of the skill involved in using the pistol.

FYI.. the menu is scripted... fastswitch was created out of necessity after using aliases long long ago.
It's all about the Joe Shmoes' in the world making aliases for actions <i>they</i> feel is a necessity.
Kids cry about losing to other players all the time. That has never changed, but then you have scripts; something people can point their fingers at that doesn't have the stigma associated with them like hacks do. It's like scripts are some kind of tangible black mysterious fog like apparition that is bad and is unfair to other players.
In the end..examine two players leaping for an attack, one with and the other without scripts; and tell me who has the advantage. The difference I can foresee is that the player without the script will have the advantage by having the freedom to make subtle adjustments to compensate all sorts of conditions. Even in real world conditions the only noticable differences is the very linear and, dare I say, scripted movements that aliases provide.
I can even go as far as to argue that, barring scripts and aliases, skilled players have the advantage over players with little to no skill at all. Should the game be adjusted to level the playing field?
No matter how many times it's said you will always have people defending blockscripts despite any real experience with scripts, and mp_blockscripts is that warm blanket for those same people who have next to no idea what it is really like and how worth wild it is to use them.
And you will always have people defending scripts. gg.
The devs decide what they want standard on the game. Server ops will then use plugins to alter the game for their server. You can choose what to do on your computer.
Play happily on a server of your choice.
As a veteran server operator I appreciate mp_blockscripts 1.

its not really a big deal, why do people go on so much?
If it makes no difference then surely you can play without them on mp_bs 1 and witht hem on bs 0 servers?

If a player is bad with scripts then he is bad without them.
If a player is bad without scripts then he is bad with them.
Scripts will never alter the outcome of a round. If a team can win on a bs_1 server then they can win on bs_0 and vica versa. I found it funny about how many clans whinned about bs_0 when they played <3 and they'd still lose if i put it to bs_1. What a load of difference that made. This just in, scripts are a scapegoat. The real reason you died is because the other player has something resembling skill.
alias normal "exec normal.cfg"
bind "DEL" "bscfg"
bind "F4" "normal"
This works well for me.

holy crap does this work like the comments say it does? that would be awesome.
Do I need a plugin or something to make this work? Or are these all default HL commands?
So, it is skill mashing a bottum very fast <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
The only one i could think of is the old "crash" script or the super leap script.
Where is the explorit script for 3.0? <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Both issues have been dealt with. There are no harmful script (some claim that the wigglewalk-script that locks up your system is though). People just need something to blame when they get killed by a better player and therefor feel more "comfortable" using mp_blockscripts 1. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
I'm not afraid of getting killed by people better than me.....just as long as we are playing with a level playing field.
mp_blockscripts 1 ftw. Script-kiddies ftl

Yes, people with scripts are probably good without them, but not as good as they are with them.
If you want customization use the options menu the NS team has so thoughtfully included with the game.

What are you afraid of?
We are on the same level of playing, that is what you need to realize.
The point is that NOT EVERYONE knows what scripts are or how to use them.
If NS came with a script section built-in the options menu where "official" scripts were available to all players I'd change my opinion.

oh that's fresh... the "if it's not editable in a menu; it's not kosher" argument...
FYI.. the menu is scripted... fastswitch was created out of necessity after using aliases long long ago.
The devs decide what they want standard on the game. Server ops will then use plugins to alter the game for their server. You can choose what to do on your computer.
Play happily on a server of your choice.
As a veteran server operator I appreciate mp_blockscripts 1.
