optimizations breaking this?
When I have a particle system that uses a trigger_hurt for its generation entity, the particles don't appear. I remember reading that some ns code optimizations were removing entities and doing their effects on their own. Could this conceivably screw up env_particles custom using a trigger_hurt for its generation entity? or should I look elsewhere for the problem?

AFAIK, trigger_hurts wouldn't be removed. Does it work if you use an illusionary instead? Have you tried it with any other trigger_ entities?

it works fine when I use an illusionary.

So you've only noticed it with a trigger_hurt? Did you try with other triggers_? Anyway, if it doesn't work, you could always use an extra entity for an illusionary. I have no idea why it won't work on trigger_hurts, and frankly, I rarely get the particle system to work as I want it to. Maybe wait for some smarter person to reply
