I suspected Chrono and Freak, for the most part. My gut told me they were hiding something. Stupid gut didn't let me know that Chrono was the guardian, though! Thanks go out to Renegade for the ambigious taunt. ;P
Brilliant last stand by Sky, there. It's a good thing you <i>brutally murdered me</i>, because it would have made me have doubts about whether you were in fact the wolf. You should have been the lawyer, not Lolfighter. (No offense, Lol. If you think about it, it's actually a compliment. ;P)
Good storytelling by Renegade as well. Thanks for putting the time into that, man.
In conclusion: great game, and much love all around. I can't wait for the next one.
Kudos to Renegade for a job well done. If I should criticise, you got a little too impatient at the end. It's only all too understandable, but your eagerness to get us going somehow indicated to me that we were on the right path with Sky.
Great story too. Definitely a different style from the more direct approach Freak took. Shame you don't want to host the next game too, but at least that gives me the chance.
Mouse, you're mad, you know that? Utterly mad. And I thought I was the paranoid one. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Abra, my condolences for joining the game, only to be kicked out of it before it even began. Don't give up on us, try again next game!
Well, below is the journal I kept, raw and uncut, directly from notepad:
<!--c1--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1-->TWG 3: Unfound
lolfighter's story
For the record, in case you have forgotten or can't be bothered to check: I am human. No special role.
I started this journal on day four, which is why the previous days and nights are way less detailed. I guess I'd better start writing earlier next game.
Remember, everything is written in the light of the events at that time, so I might seem inconsistent as my opinion shifts back and forth.
Day one:
The game starts in confusion. Nobody is suspicious, so everybody is suspicious. Not knowing better, I cast my vote randomly. Later that day, Condizzle contacts me, telling me that he's the seer and that he has confirmed me as human. His story is not implausible: I managed to annoy him before the game, and not having more likely targets, he seered me in hopes that I was a wolf and he could kill me off. :D
Initially, I do not fully trust Condizzle. He knows nothing that a wolf wouldn't know (as it always is with the seer). However, lacking other options, I decide to trust him for the moment. It will be several days yet before he fully wins my trust.
Night two:
On my initiative, Condizzle seers Isamil. Not only is Isamil acting suspicious, he will also be a powerful ally if he is not a wolf.
Day two:
Isamil is confirmed human. On Isamil's initiative, PS_Mouse is told that Isamil and I know the seer, although the seer's identity is not revealed to him. Together, we decide to seer Pithlit.
Night three:
Condizzle seers Pithlit. NS forums go offline.
Day three:
NS forums back up. Desperation strikes as inactivity reigns supreme among the formerly so active TWG players. Most notably, Condizzle seems to have dropped off the face of the earth. Isamil eventually tracks Condizzle down. Pithlit confirmed as human. Still no wolves dead according to Isamil and Mouse. wonedslackystyle lynched.
Night four:
SUCCESS! wonedslackystyle turns out to have been a wolf. PS_Mouse suspicious of Freak and Condizzle (not knowing that Condizzle is the seer). I decide that Freak should be seered.
Day four:
Success again! Freak is a wolf. At this point, our "network" consists of five people: Isamil, Condizzle, Pithlit, lolfighter and PS_Mouse, with Mouse not knowing that Condizzle is in our network and the seer. We are now enough people for instalynch, and can kill off Freak at leisure. Furthermore, even if the remaining wolf kills us off one by one, we can keep instalynching the unconfirmed players, eventually killing the last wolf through use of the exclusion method. The game is in the bag...
... if it wasn't for PS_Mouse. Not fully part of our network, PS_Mouse goes ahead and votes for who he thinks is the other remaining wolf: Condizzle. Hellfire jumps on the bandwagon, and suddenly Condizzle is in danger of being instalynched: If Sky and Gwahir vote for him too before someone changes their vote, Freak will most certainly finish him off and cast the vote for instalynch. Not only will we have lost our seer, but Freak survives another night and day, and the victory that seemed so certain will be in jeopardy again. I have to act.
First, I cast my vote for Freak. Since I am notorious for not having a clue as to who to vote for, and since I voted for him on day three, I believe I can do so with little suspicion. If I can get Sky or Gwahir to vote with me, Condizzle is safe for now.
Second, I contact PS_Mouse, revealing to him that Condizzle is our seer. Mouse does not trust me, and I hope to gain his trust through this move. If I can make him change his vote, Condizzle will also be safe. To my immense frustration, however, Mouse refuses to do so at the moment. Having no fingernails left to bite, I have started gnawing on my knuckles.
Isamil comes online, and Mouse contacts him, having him confirm that Condizzle is the seer. Mouse changes his vote to Sky, but behaves increasingly odd. Although I still believe Mouse is human, I make up my mind to have him seered tonight. It'll be a waste, but we don't really need the seer at this point to win the game, and I can't stand the uncertainty. As ironic as it is, Mouse is actually the best lead we have on a potential wolf, right now.
Later this day, Isamil wants to vote on me to gain Freak's confidence. I am rather heavily opposed to this (and start using expletitives and ALLCAPS), as it won't do any good (as Isamil said it himself, Freak is too experienced a player to give him any leads) and it creates an opportunity for instalynch. However, as all the unconfirmed players have spread out their votes, I eventually relent.
Freak levels a withering assault at me. Hats off, were it not me he was railing against, I would probably have been convinced. I defend myself a little. Isamil votes for me, but changes votes later on.
Night five:
Freak is instalynched. Jubilation! Now to find the last remaining wolf.
There are still two holes remaining in our "network": Mouse and the psychic. I'll try to convince Isamil to give us the identity of the psychic so we can seer him. At this point, I have a slight suspicion that the real wolves could be Isamil, Mouse and Condizzle. I am not prepared to act on that suspicion, though: If I'm right, we're pretty much totally screwed anyway. If I'm wrong, I could ruin the game. I'll keep it in the back of my head, though, it could turn out to be important.
Isamil comes online. I try to convince him to reveal the psychic so we can seer him, and (frankly, to my surprise) he does: It's him. :D
Isamil shares his logs of the night with me. Poor Freak. Stabbed in the back just like that. I hope Isamil will post his logs in the aftergame thread.
We both agree, at this point, that the most likely suspects are Hellfire and Gwahir. Gwahir voted for Freak at the last possible moment. Considering how Freak voted for slacky, this could very well be a bid for an alibi. Hellfire, on the other hand, took a stance against me, supporting Freak. Sky was not present at the end of the day, which he probably would have been if he is a wolf, considering how Freak's life was at stake - for quite a while it looked like Freak and I would tie, and Sky could have cast the deciding vote there.
Isamil messaged Condizzle yesterday, asking him to seer Hellfire. We've decided to seer Gwahir instead, but don't know whether Condizzle has already seered, or whether we'll get to him in time to change his target if he hasn't. No matter. We believe that either Gwahir or Hellfire is the remaining wolf, and no matter what, we'll end up seering one of them. If we discover a wolf, he dies. If we discover a human, the other one dies, and if HE turns out not to have been a wolf (which we'll know in any case, even if Isamil doesn't survive this night: if we get the remaining wolf, the game ends), Sky is our next candidate and will be seered next. If HE turns out to be a human as well, the only possibility left is Mouse. The game will end on either day five or day six, and the humans will win again. If I were a spectator, I'd call this lame - three human wins in a row. But I'm no spectator, so I'm just looking forward to winning. Hope I don't get wolfed, but I won't be too downstruck if it happens anyway.
I manage to grab Condizzle, and tell him to seer Gwahir.
Day five:
Pithlit is wolfed, the first of our network to die. It would've been nice if it had been one of the unconfirmed players, but I guess that was rather unlikely at this point. Poor Pithlit. His death shall not be in vain!
Condizzle says that Gwahir is a human. Our most likely targets are Hellfire and Sky, but Isamil, Mouse and I lean heavily towards Hellfire.
Mouse makes a post, basically incriminating himself. I go along and vote for him, hinting that I suspected him even before he made the post. Let's see if we can cause a little havoc and confusion before the game ends. It's a somewhat crude attempt, but the game's pretty much over anyway - might as well savour it. No need to force Renegade too hurry up too much with his storywriting, either.
Mouse and I have a little showdown in IRC, with Hellfire watching on. I believe I carry myself well.
We also carry on our little game on the forums. I love metaphors.
I speak with Hellfire, but don't learn much. Still suspicious. A near-slipup makes it aparrent how much I still have to learn about this game. I should be less active.
Later on, I change my vote to Sky.
A few hours before the deadline, my vote goes to Hellfire.
Condizzle comes online and votes for Hellfire, triggering an instalynch. Suspense...
Night six:
FAILURE! Hellfire was a human, or, if he was a wolf, there is still a wolf left (which would be worrying because that'd mean that Isamil would be lying. And if Isamil would be lying, he would be a wolf. And if Isamil were a wolf, Condizzle would be lying. And if Condizzle would be lying, Condizzle would be a wolf. OMG!). I have told Condizzle to seer Sky. If it isn't Sky, it's Mouse. I hope.
I finally have a talk with Gwahir. We agree that Mouse could very well be the wolf, the way things are now, but are of course going to wait for Condizzle's verdict.
Condizzle's verdict: Mouse is a human. That means that we're only left with one likely candidate: Sky. With everyone else a confirmed human, Sky doesn't stand a whelk's chance in a supernova. Kudos, nay, MAD PROPS to those who can tell me where that reference is from. :)
Day six:
Nobody likes lawyers. Werewolves seem to be slightly more tolerant of them, considering that I've stayed alive so far. But now I'm dead. D:
Ah well. Sky will go down today I'm sure. Condizzle seems intent on taking him down. Or at least on taking SOMEONE down, but I think I know who he'll vote for. It's been fun. Wish I could've survived the game, but you can't have everything. If I have sheltered the seer or psychic by taking the bullet for them, I can be satisfied with my efforts. Go for it humans!
As expected, Condizzle votes for Sky. It's annoying to sit idly by and wait, having been in the game for so long. Hurry up and cast your votes, humans!
Sky starts an offensive against Condizzle. Either he just doesn't fully understand the scope of our knowledge, or he knows far more than we do. Anyway, we had it figured out: If Sky dies and the game is not over, Condizzle dies. Humans win anyway. Of course, there's one thing Sky is right about: If Isamil AND Condizzle are wolves, the humans only have a chance if they vote both off as soon as possible. Basically, they can't cover all bases. Sky, however, is by far the most likely target. His days are numbered.
Gwahir casts the final vote for Sky: Instalynch! Now to wait for Renegade to notice, and end the game... or?
Endgame:
Sky is dead. The game is over. Another human victory. Well, I won't be one to complain. I played my part as Condizzle's agent, and whether through luck or otherwise, he managed to stay alive until the end of the game, proving immensely valuable. I offer my congratulations to the wolves on a game well played, you had us fooled over and over. Now I'm just waiting for the postgame thread. I wanna know who the guardian was.<!--c2--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--ec2-->
In closing, I have a question for Sky: Why did you kill me off in the end? Don't worry, I'm not grumpy about it or anything. We were on opposing sides. All's fair in love and war. I'm just curious why you decided that I had to go, not one of the others. Did I seem to know too much?
Also, I'd like to host the next game, if you'll let an inexperienced nublar like me do it.
Only one thing that remains to be done now...
/me dances the perminate dance
And I would have done it too, if it wasn't for you pesky Renegade and your not making lolfighter a wolf.
Well I don't have a huge log to post... so I will cut straight to the doncing after this little thing I made while I was playing:
<!--QuoteBegin-OMGWTHBBQ+--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> (OMGWTHBBQ)</td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->

The reason Freak is the only one on wolves is because he's the only one I seered.
/me donces the gorge donce.
Kudos to the wolves for great playing, and the humans for winning and setting up their network. Looking forward to TWG IV!
Also, I had my suspicions for a while that Mouse was a wolf. Turns out he wasn't. Yay Mouse! <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

*donces on own grave*
not a very good game but w.e can't wait to the next where do we hold the signups for that and when ??
back to the game. I found it hard because I didnt know any of you so I really couldnt work my magic. Plus I had another game going on, on ffr so I payed most attention to that. 3 days (rounds) in one night. I owned the humans.
Next game I hope to be able to talk with more of you. Didn't really get to speak with anyone. Can't wait to play the next game peace.
OH and call me Slacky, not woned please
I thought it was interesting how Isamil and Mouse said they had talked with the psychic. Slightly misleading, but it works.
In the next signup thread, make sure it is clear when the game will start. I can make it to the signup thread, but I will have limited internet access during spring break (dialup internet), and I don't want to sign up if I'm going to miss a full day.
Of course, I also expected Gwahir to be online and available for manipulation. Here's what would have happened if Gwahir had voted for Condizzle: I would have killed Mouse that night, just so to keep a suspect (Isamil) and a potential ally (Gwahir) in the game going into the next day. And did I have a speech ready to smear Isa. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> Who boy, that thing was massive. Going on about holes in the information we have heard from Isa, how I have thoroughly laid down all the events of the last few days, etc etc. TBH, there's a definite chance that Gwahir might have believed me, killed Isamil, and had the wolves win the game. So, once you look at it that way, it's quite a good thing that Gwahir killed me when he did.
@lolfighter: You were killed because, quite honestly, you were the only person still in the game that I felt I wouldn't be able to out-debate in a confrontation. Obviously I didn't know how many people were "in" on the human network; still, it's a good thing that I didn't kill the seer, or I would have had literally no backing for countering Isa's arguments. You, on the other hand, are too openly brazen (almost like Mouse, but not nearly as crazy) for the other humans to seriously consider to be a wolf. In retrospect, it still was the best decision; the elimination of you, Condizzle, and Mouse was the best way for a lone wolf to win this game against 5 humans.
I'll go through every wolfing now, and state the reasons as best as I can remember and from my own perspective; I can't obviously speak for slacky or freak:
Night One - Abra
Basically, we wanted to sow confusion. The original gameplan was to let Mouse, Snidely, Chrono, lolfighter, and brute_force tear each other apart. Chrono got destroyed this way, but unfortunately the "power players" in this game banded relatively quickly in the seer-psychic alliance, not a very good thing for the wolves.
Night Two - docchimpy
If you recall, the nights at this point in the game were taking obscenely long. What this signaled that either the guardian, the seer, or both were inactive, because Renegade always seemed to be around. I advocated killing off all of the inactive players asap, including hellfire and <u>condizzle</u> ( >_> ), however come night 3 we had to abandon this plan.
Plus, we just liked confusing you guys. ^_^
Night Three - Snidely
Snidely was too obviously NOT a wolf, and by association no one wanted to vote for anyone he deemed okay, consciously or unconsciously. Plus we wanted to shake you guys up; the previous day had all been "What are the wolves doing? Are they idiots?"
Night Four - brute_force
Much the same as Snidely, plus both freak and I suspected him of being the seer. Mainly on my part because Pithlit thought he was a wolf, which signalled to me that brute had information that he shouldn't as a normal human have.
Night Five - Pithlit
I was kinda said that we killed Pithlit, especially since I wasn't here at the time. Either freak did this alone, or Renegade did this randomly, I don't know. It kinda hurt my strategy, because I think I could have bent Pithlit to join me voting out the more dangerous players, but alas, Senior Trip conspired against me.
Night Six - lolfighter
Already explained above, but to summarize, lolfighter was too opinionated to argue against, so he really had to go. Plus, in a dying pm Freak said that he suspected either mouse or lolfighter to be the seer, and as I had not been accused yet I figured I only had one night to kill the seer before being completely screwed.
And like I said, Mouse would have been the 7th Night's kill, because I know he didn't trust me one iota in this game.
Okay, posting waaaaay too much from a school computer.....
One final thing: I would very much like to run the next twg. I have an...interesting...concept ready, and though I don't know exactly how it would play out, suffice it to say that it would be a rather large break from Renegade's story-telling style.
I want to see a game where the guardian successfully protects someone for once. Three games, and the guardian has been useless so far.
I also have a very nitpicky rules question. Let's say the wolves are in a very tight situation, and the humans know what is going on for the most part, basically they make it clear that they know who the last two wolves are. The wolves could always use the strategy of killing one of themselves to confuse the humans. If they chose to do this, would the psychic get the number of wolves from before the wolf dies that night, or after? (I would be surprised if this ever happens, but it could.)
Snidely was too obviously NOT a wolf, and by association no one wanted to vote for anyone he deemed okay, consciously or unconsciously. Plus we wanted to shake you guys up; the previous day had all been "What are the wolves doing? Are they idiots?"<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Did my PM to you saying that I suspected Freak do anything to sway it towards me, or not? (I also said I suspected Chrono. Whoopsie on my part. (: )
Brute: IIRC, me, ZB and pith suspected you on the first day. The next day, I wasn't so sure, as I got the impression that Chrono/Freak were wolves.
I have never seen this rule anywhere, within or outside the NS forums.

Believe me, you were neither the first nor the last to pm me saying that you thought freak was a wolf. tbh freak <i>did</i> act rather wolfy most of the time this game. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
One thing on wolves wolfing other wolves: freak and I toyed around with this idea for a while. There are all kinds of tricks the wolves can pull that would futz with people's heads, though many of them are rather suicidal. I think that, since the strategy of wolfing one of your own is so dangerous, it shouldn't be "nerfed" by having the psychic see the number of wolves after the wolfing. In other words, if there are two wolves going into a night, the psychic will get a pm saying that there are two wolves left in the game, even if a wolf kills himself overnight.
It goes like this: If you had not been a wolf, there would only have been confirmed humans left in the game. That wouldn't have made any sense - Condizzle would have been lying. This meant that Condizzle was a wolf. But there could only have been one remaining wolf, or Isamil would've been lying as well. So he would've been the second wolf, had there been one. There couldn't have been three wolves, as the game would already have been over then. So it boiled down to you three. You were the FAR more likely wolf, though. Condizzle and Isamil had done much to help us, and had established lots of credibility. You came in from the sidelines and tried to make us buy your explanation. And quite frankly, I couldn't make sense of what you said. That's quite possibly because I knew more than you did (namely the extent of our alliance), and factored that in when I read your post.
In short, you killed me off because I was too opinionated to convince. I'm afraid that at this point, I was not much more opinionated than anyone else. So, good effort, but your luck had run out. Your inactivity on day four saved you from suspicion on day five, but when Gwahir was confirmed a human and Hellfire turned out not to have been a wolf, you were by far the most likely target. I'm sure everyone can confirm that they were opinionated against you by now, and were reading your post through a "wolf lens."
yeah once i realized hell all these people are against me ill just make it easier and speed things up
I confirmed Condizzle and the entire network soon after condizzle contacted me that he was the seer.
Not to mention your statement in irc that you were paranoid really gave a strong sent of wolf.
Meh, wolves lose again. 3/3 for teh humans! So about that next game, anyone object to me hosting it? This is a fun game, but I'm spent strategy-wise. <!--emo&::nerdy::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/nerd-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='nerd-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

No, there'll be 3 wolves as before. We're not going to start adding stuff until about Game 5 or so.
If sky is hosting the next one then I want to host TWG V. I think I'll play in the next one anyways though.

Haven't decided on a host as of yet. Since Freak left it to me, I'm going to pick the best/most qualified candidate.

Since there's storytelling and stuff involved, maybe it would help if we started making a shortlist of ready-to-go hosts. (i.e. whoever's not picked for this game but has volunteered.)
I got an idea for a "story", but I wouldn't have it ready for the next game; and I'd quite like to host a future game, when I have a bit more experience.
