Lag Issues

<div class="IPBDescription">When a enemy is nearby</div> I played ns for a while and my ping on server is usally 40 or something but when i am attacking a marine or something like that or is nearby a enemy base,marine i get big lag issues my ping raises to 200 - 500 and when i fall back the ping seems to drop.
And i know its nothing in wrong in my connection.

Its possible your connection settings ingame are incorrect, steam is anything but perfect and its connection settings are only a rough guide.

I would suggest making sure you have the correct connection type set in the steam options.

Failing that, speedtest your BB connection <a href='http://www.adslguide.org/tools/speedtest.asp' target='_blank'>http://www.adslguide.org/tools/speedtest.asp</a> to get rough upload and download rates. It does require java which is no longer part of windows in XP but can be downloaded.

Work out what your rates should be from the information below and enter it into the console in game ` key.

rate = [download speed in bytes/s]
cl_rate = 0
cl_updaterate = rate / 360
cl_cmdrate = [upload speed in bytes/s] / 180
(8bits=1byte, 1024bytes=1kbyte)

I would also suggest Spyware and Adware checks to make sure your PC is clean

That's Ad-Aware, not Adware (which is the name of the stuff Ad-Aware eliminates).

you might want to post a speed tester thats not in the UK. i got some pretty crappy results from that and i know they're wrong
