<div class="IPBDescription">Server Admins MUST Read</div> I'm going to show everyone the secrets to ns_siege007_v2. These are not exploits so stop trying to ban people because you are ignorant about the map. After reading this post you will be enlightened!
Secret 1:
First there is a teleport directly to the siege room from the 3rd level of the jetpack room. This is always available during the entire game.
<img src='http://img172.exs.cx/img172/8288/teleportbutton9qp.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
This button can be pushed from all sides of the column.
<img src='http://img172.exs.cx/img172/3661/teleportfloor9oa.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
Here’s another view of the button and the location of the hidden teleport door. After the button is pressed, walk to the corner and you will fall in. You will teleport to just above the box in the siege room with the red and white stripes on top.
Secret 2:
There is a door from the aliens hive to the siege room. There is no timer for this door only a button.
<img src='http://img181.exs.cx/img181/4520/hivedoorlocked1xw.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
The door is locked from the start of the map.
There is a vent from the long halls behind the resource tower to the 3rd level of the jetpack room. In the vent there is secret room number 1. There are 2 doors that must be opened to proceed into secret room number 2. First go to the 3rd level of the jetpack room. Under the vent is a button to open the 2nd door.
<img src='http://img172.exs.cx/img172/2310/secretbutton23nx.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
Now go back into secret room number 1 for the other button to open the first door.
<img src='http://img181.exs.cx/img181/3238/secretbutton19pb.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
Now turn around and crouch to go through the vent to the secret room number 2.
<img src='http://img172.exs.cx/img172/1866/secretdoor5vw.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
In this room there are two buttons one to lock secret room number 1 and the other to open the hive door. First the button to lock the secret room.
<img src='http://img181.exs.cx/img181/7528/roomlock0fv.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
Now the button to open the hive door.
<img src='http://img181.exs.cx/img181/817/keyhole5mx.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
Looking back in the hive room the door is now open till someone else pushes the button again.
<img src='http://img181.exs.cx/img181/1143/hivedoorunlocked3oj.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
Notes:
1) The secret rooms can't be sieged from the siege door, but I don't know about the second level of the jetpack room.
2) Aliens should get silence in the siege room if they are going to build. It's a good idea to get some oc’s to thwart marines using the teleport.
3) Most of the siege room can be taken out by the siege cannons. Past the box in the siege room is about their limit.
4) All the buttons are toggleable. If you are having trouble with the secret doors remember the order of the buttons. If you can see inside the vent then go press the button in the jetpack room again.
I hope this helps everyone; this is a very interesting map to play out.

Do not under any circumstances include parts of the map that have a direct impact on gameplay and are deliberately inaccessible for certain players.
This is almost, a l m o s t, as bad as unmarked trigger_hurts <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif' /><!--endemo-->
If you configure the buttons so that they are:
- clearly visible or at least hinted at
- in such a configuration that they don't ruin gameplay
...then server admins (with a brain) might download this map.
its beyond mappers imagination. FAR BEYOND!
Gah.

no we wont. we "waste" our time to create awesome maps.
fullstop.
maybe taking a look at one of the maps listed in my sig will open your eyes forever.

Its ugly gross and there is a bunch of "secrets" which is a nice way of saying instant retardation. The gameplay can be fun, but the implimentation is absolulty atrocious. You haven't been around long, but it is generally considered common knowladge that box maps/fun maps DO NOT BELONG IN THE NS MAPPING FORUM!
honestly, seige007 is like a curse word among mappers. Many of them would probably try to kill you if you said thier map resembled it in any way shape or form. I'm seriously surprized the flames have been as subdued as they have been, on a different day with different people browsing this forum I'm sure your sexual preferances would have already been questions at rampant, and your name added to many people's "people I hate" lists.
no no, I reduce it to call it "the worst possible way to use the poor valve hammer editor" everytime I introduce new mappers to vhe.
most of them correct me by replying "the BEST possible way to RAPE the poor valve hammer editor".
is that a valid flame now? <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
<span style='color:gray'>LINK BALEETED</span>
I prefer classic to siege any day but i have to admit siege cant be as "crap" as u lot make it out to be if the majority play it!
Unless you can't talk about a map with out saying babyish words like crap/crappier etc etc dont say anything at all because you sound like my lil sister argueing with her nursery friends <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
1. I already know it looks bad. But thanks for telling me anyway. I've made a few serious attempts at making pretty maps and it has never turned out too well, <a href='http://yolg.homestead.com/files/yolg.jpg' target='_blank'>except for when I made up a little non-directional texture set (sourceless lights for the win)</a>.
2. I think "gimmick map" is better than "fun map". Also, we prefer the term "European Americans".
3. ns_siege007_v2 is completely stolen. Decompiled, reassembled, crappified, and misnamed. Making the map darker doesn't add atmosphere; it makes me turn my brightness up. I think this actually looks worse than ns_siege006/007 because knickknacks look tacked on and there are weird texture combinations. And of course the previously mentioned seakrat teleports and doors.
4. The hives can see into the siege room in ns_siege007_v2. This is wrong. The one way window was the key feature of ns_siege006.
5. Seriously, MISNAMED. That is the part that bothers me the most.
6. siege sucks lol nub. It was a concept that never worked out.
7. Having said that... I'll trade my kingdom for a round of ns_siege007 that isn't full of nubs.
I can win with a strat you never thought possible...
Why??
Regular NS maps are about strategy mixed with the map, resources play a large part, as does territory, locations, pushes, defenses, ect...
SIege is the all out war... if you want to test your strategical mind and your adaptation and thinking skills, play a siege map, because siege maps are where strategy is born and used much moreso than in a regular Ns map...
oh.. and as stated in my sig
SIEGE IS FUN.... anyone who disagree's either does not understand strategy (siege is strategy at its most basic level, resources are not an issue) or is just a cynical retarted ****... basically spoondog minus the coolness
that is all
~Jason
They can be fun to play, but most often result in
1) Server Crashes
2) Turret and OC farms
3) People Leaving
4) Mechanical Wins (aka, not players, but turrents)
so they are not of good quality...
a quality map can NOT be won by static defenses alone... nor mass meat rushes... they require a certain ammount of finese to win <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
<span style='color:white'><span style='font-family:arial'>Thanks to the greatness of <a href='http://filebase.bots-united.com/index.php?action=file&id=177' target='_blank'>BSPEdit</a>, I can now present a version of siege007 without any of the secrets. All of the buttons targeting the secrets have been removed, and the warp has been removed as well to prevent people /stucking into it.</span></span>
