Have any of those even been mentioned? They're my favourites, in no particular order.
So long as the song in question has a melody that isn't the same 2 bar riff repeated over and over ad nauseum without any discernable change whatsoever(which cuts out a large majority of rap and today's "R&B", pretty much.) I'll probably like it.
But as for other things, I guess I can list off a few.
- Pink Floyd (I personally prefer Gilmour's voice over Waters', but that's just me. '<i>The Division Bell</i>' is one of my favourite albums of theirs.) - Elton John (Great music, great voice.) - Nightwish (Tarja's voice = the win) - Blind Guardian (Simply great songs) - Nobou Uematsu - Ryuichi Sakamoto - Ryuji Iuchi - U2
Then there's classical stuff, of which I like a wide variety. Also military songs, anthems, etc. Stuff from Russia in those respects sound particularly good.
Mostly JPop and techno with a bit of rock and such scattered around for good measure.
Check out <a href='http://www.symbionproject.com/instant.html' target='_blank'>Symbion Project</a>. A few of the songs are up for download on that page. I recommend Synthesized, FreQout and Control Your Body.
OK Then heres a bit list of all the bands Venmoch currently has on WinAMP
A Perfect Circle Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill 2 music!) Apocalyptica Chevelle Chiasm Cradle Of Filth Cult Of Luna Daisy Chainsaw DJ Shadow Evanescence Fun Lovin' Criminals Genitorturers Glassjaw Grindstone Helmet Incubus Inkubus Sukkubus Jack Off Jill (\o/) Kittie KMFDM (\o/) Lacuna Coil Limp Bizkit (Sue Me) Linkin Park (Sue Me) Marylin Manson The Mars Volta Marty O'Donnell Metallica (Used to like them but I've gone off 'em) Millencolin The Missing Mortiis My Ruin Nickleback (What I call no-brainer rock) Nightwish Nirvana Oasis The Offspring Pearl Jam Powder Prodigy Queen Adreena R.E.M Rammstein Rob Dougan Seether Seventh Soil Staind Stone Sour Tenacious D Tool The Who Within Temptation
And theres probably a load more. But probably haven't been put on MP3.
I usually listen to just game and anime OSTs, but some of the real bands I like... Pantera Killswitch Engage Metallica Prodigy Dir en Grey Queens of the Stone Age They Might be Giants and Mighty Mouse somewhat.
But it's generally just <a href='http://www.audioscrobbler.com/user/Chrono5788/' target='_blank'>game music.</a>
Aerosmith The Animals Ash <b>The Beastie Boys The Beatles Bob Dylan</b> Chemical Brothers The Crystal Method <b>Daft Punk</b> The Doves The Dust Brothers Electric Six Feeder <b>Led Zepplin</b> Lemon Jelly <b>Madness Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies</b> The Misfits Muse Nirvana <b>The Pixies Queen Queens of the Stone Age Rage Against the Machine</b> The Red Hot Chilli Peppers Rob D <b>The Sex Pistols Tenacious D</b> The White Stripes
LOOK UPON MY PLAYLIST AND WEEP, YE OF LITTLE TASTE.
I'm a former death/black/melodic death/thrash/goth metalhead, but my tastes were consumed by goa trance, psytrance, D & B, House, breakbeat, EBM, hip hop, alternative rock, etc.
And for you metalheads, when an EBM band's music is heavier, harder, and just more extreme than every single metal band ever without the lame lyrics, you make the switch to electronic music.
After being a somewhat ok guitar player but extremely good death/black metal vocalist, I turned into an electronic producer. Muahahahaha. <a href='http://ecstasisband.com' target='_blank'>Music pimpage.</a>
Heh. If you want that, check out The Berzerker, Ill. They win. Probably one of my favourite bands. No melody, two minute songs, some of the best roaring I've heard, and the most awesome use of drum distorters ever.
I don't listen to very much electronica because I simply don't like the sound. 90% of the time, it simply ends up annoying me.
A list of good bands I saw in 3 seperate concerts:
1.) Hypocrisy 2.) Strapping Young Lad 3.) In Flames 4.) Children of Bodom 5.) The Berzerker 6.) Nile 7.) Slayer 8.) Dimmu Borgir
There were other bands, but none worth mentioning. I'd like to mention that we listened to electronic music (futurepop, trance, EBM) to and from the Dimmu Show <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->.
They're still all cringe-worthy. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd--> I think <i>your</i> list is pretty cringe-worthy, personally.
Because at least half of the bands there are actually good, and you get Tenacious D and The Who props. Besides, your list is positively heavenly compared to Thaldarin's and Obst's :O.
