I Keep Getting This Error Message

<div class="IPBDescription">HELP</div> I have an annoying problem with downloading NS V 3.

Anyway, i just got Half Life and i ran through the training level. Then i click on the link in the files page and start downloading NS. After it reaches 100% , i click open and it says " STEAM is currently running, please stop STEAM before running this setup." I click ok and it just disappears. I need to no how to close steam of something. please help. I got half life specificly to play this game and i dont want to be delayed further.

Any help would be appreciated.

You should see a black and white Steam icon in your system tray (next to the clock), right-click that and select "Exit". Steam usually takes a few seconds to fully exit, so count to ten, then try running the installer.

If the problem persists, Steam may be lingering in memory... which it does occasionally due to bugs or other things.

If this is the case, press Ctrl+Alt+Del <b>once</b>, and look in the Task Manager, see if Steam.exe is on the list, if it is, highlight and press the "End Process" button. Repeat this step until Steam.exe goes off the list (do it slowly, as Steam takes forever to fully close).

If Steam.exe goes off the list and there are no other instances of it, close the Task Manager and try running the installer again.
