I dont know how to make an online server, where can i download a serve client thing tha i run off of my comeputer??anyone know?

Hi,

I'm not sure whether this will help you, but here I go:

What you also can do is start up ns and 'create server'. When you want to play alone to test some stuff you can open the console and type 'sv_cheats 1'. Once you have joined a team there is another usefull command 'bigdig' that makes structures build by themselves once you've placed them.

You can also play without cheats once peeps join your created server (which is not a dedicated server). If for instance you want to play with your friends, give them passwords so that they can join your server. The password is set in the 'create server'.

Please give more information.

- About the refresh option: are you sure that something isn't messed up with your filters for searching the right game?
- And what does it say when you make your own server, as I'm trying to read people's mind all the time without success.

it says my client .dll is different from the server's when i try to join ( the same thing with the HL 1 mod: The Ship) please tell me how to get a better .dll or something!!!!

(more info ) i have the registered vs. of HL, and i downloaded and instaled NS 3.0, i even registered on NS, but i still cant join a game because of my client . dll, how do i get an updated one?

yes i am running steam, and i have a registered vs. of HL which u cannot switch to mods on <<< major problem Steam really messed up cause u cant play mods on it!

yeah, i downloaded it, but how do u instal it or which files
do u replace (or unpack)?

i have a couple of other files ( ds 3.0, 3.1, 3.2) and i have same prob

i did, but it still dosent work. i dont know wat to do with the files (which to replace or keep)

the uber-difficult installation of ns:

1) download steam (www.steampowered.com)
2) install steam <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif' />
3) update steam (auto-update)
4) register & log in
5) download & install hl (through the 'play games' menu...Just dbl click it)
6) run hl once
7) download & install ns 3.0
8) why are you reading this ? go play ns !

BTW: you can just make a signature in ur 'controls' menu up top...you don't have to type it every time...

i know how 2 get it and everything, i dont know wat to do with the new 3.2 files
(i metioned more earlier) i dont know where to put them and which files to unpack, erase, and replace!!!!! And i cant play it cause of my client .dll file is different from the server when i join!!!

3.0.2 is SERVER-SIDED, as long as you're not hosting you don't need it, you download it off the server
