Info_team_start Entity Does Not Work

hi first
problem is, i have newly begun with mapping, though not havin lotsa experience. ive set up a basic map though and tried to give it every entity it needs... compiled and loaded i get as far as the RR. when i join a team, i get sent into empty space maked dead. i however have 2 info_team_start entities, one for a player of every race (i know i need 18 of each later on, but it will do for now) but the whole thing just isnt working.
