Ingenious. Why didn't I think of it...
So, who all uses this thing. I found this to be pretty cool website. I was able to find some old friends, and contact them, no charge. Thats really useful when I am a poor college musician.
And for those of you who don't know, Thefacebook is this website for college students that lets them see many things. You can see who is in your classes, find friends, meet people, find people with the same interests, blah blah blah. Its like one of those meet people websites, without the costs. Its great. And if they don't have your college listed (because they do some extensive work researching the majors and stuff in different schools), then they can add it for you.
So, anyways, back to my original intent for this post...
Anyone got some stories relating to it? Meet a old friend, find a new fling, etc. I'm curious to see how this thing is affecting college students' lives.

I find that, practically, the facebook is good for two things:
1) Finding people you haven't talked to in awhile
2) getting to know better people you meet in person
I normally make it a rule to not facebook someone until i've talked to them a few times in person and gotten to know them a bit. Otherwise, I always feel like a big staker. Girls, usually, don't seem to like random people sending them messages.

Agreed, though quite a few people have sent me friend invitations that I barely know (if I know them at all, I still accept it, though I had one person that I think mixed me up with someone else). This includes one of my sister's friends that I barely talked with one time. I think the Visualize My Friends feature is cool, though it requires an SVGZ viewer. Has anyone found a meaningful use for the "poke" feature?
clicky
The name of their sister site makes me feel sick though.
Have you had Steve Hofstetter (Columbia) try and be your friend? He's apparently on a quest to have 100,000 friends.
Oh, I just use poke to do some playful flirtations with this one chic friend of mine. Haven't really found another use for it.
