<div class="IPBDescription">2+ connections from one IP</div> Hi,

I've tried playing NS online where 2 of us have tried to connect to the same server from one IP (i.e. behind a NAT router). One player connects and as soon as the other one does that player then gets dropped from the server. Any ideass how to fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

If your using the same steam account then you can only have 1 open connection to a server.

Your friend will have to use his own steam account or go out and buy half-life for 5 quid or whatever it is now.

Having said that it could be just the server doesn't allow more than 1 connection from a client's IP.... Although being behind a router I would expect your IP to be masked. And I've never seen a server do that before.

Steam won't allow 2 people to be active on the same account at the same time. So they must have different accounts. It sounds like the server has a no-LAN policy, and is dropping people registering the same IP addresses.

Even if you are behind a NAT router, the router has to show the full octet grouping of the IP address, it is a requirement of most ISPs. What the NAT router does is to provide a firewall layer to give the impression of a masked final octet.
