It even has a visual guide, as you should able able to match up what you're doing to the pictures.
I'm talking about the download directory. Not all websites have a directory but FilePlanet does. If I remember correctly, the earlier patches had to have a strict download directory or download location or an error would appear.
That, you would need to check with FilePlanet about the details.
However, v3.0 Final is a stand-alone install, not an update, so you should download the installer to a convienient location, and install it from there, follow the update install guide.
