Hl2 Key For Ns?

i'm tryin to get a friend to play ns.... but we're wondering does he hafta get hl? or can he just guy hl2 and use that cd key to play?

HL2 Silver or Gold editions will get him the backcatalouge and thus get him HL.

You have to be able to play the original half-life through Steam (not Half-Life: Source). If you can do that, you can run NS. If you can't do that, you can't run NS.
