Cant Install Ns!

so i launch Steam
Open "Play Games"

pls help... i have played this game before... but i re-installed my computer and after that the problem came up...

Yes i know, how you feel, and if you have still followed the instructions given you still cant quiet get ns in teh third party games list cuz it wont show up. Same problem by me but every1 thinks im just unabable only becuz the instructions given may be correct but may not be the same for every computer or soemthing because, ive been havin it now 2.5 months and havnt been able to play it now since it came out halloween, even thou it was a acool game when it first came out (damm steam for being invented) well hope you get it runnin if you do mail me and tell me how u got it done.

It's really simple, the biggest problem I see people doing is installing NS into the wrong directory. Guys,a ll you have to do is run the Half-Life training course ONCE, not even complete it, just make sure it works, and close it. Then close Steam and double-click the installer for NS and it will find the correct directry to install to automatically. Make sure if you have 2 or more accounts, it installs it into the correct account.

hey ill bet yall be proud, i got it to work on all these toutorials and stuff they say install it under C://Programmfiles/Valve/Steamapps/username/halflife
but now after 3 months ive figured it out. I had to go:
C://Programs/Valve/steamapps/username/halflife
because for somereason threre was a valve folder in my programm files so i kept installing there and it didnt go till one day i was looking through my folders and found under programs another valve and since i had 10 mins at that time i decided to install and test it there. I almost fainted when it worked then.

how bout CS? I got counter strike installed thru steam (i didn't use the CD to install it), how can i get NS to install?

NS is a Third Party game, so you cannot get it through steam.

Ok, i don't know if i'm just a retard or what. I followed the guide step by step and got nuthin. When I run the .exe I get an error saying that a valid version of half-life or steam cannot be found. I continue anyways and choose Programs/Valve/Steam/steamapps/(accountname)/half-life source

I also tried Programs/Valve/Steam/steamapps/(accountname)/half-life source/hl1 and still got nothing. Any thoughts?

pyr0, did you actually read the posts on how to install NS?
Both of them accurately say that NS will not work when installed into a Half-Life Source folder.

Assuming your SteamID is pyr0, your default installation path is C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\pyr0\hl
