My Monitor Screen Shakes When Set To 60hz

<div class="IPBDescription">Fixable or just a sign of old age?</div> Ok, ive had this CRT monitor working fine for about 3 years, but now whenever its set to 60hz it starts shaking horizontally. Naturally, i always use 85hz for my desktop, but Half-Life is locked to 60hz so i can no longer play NS without it shaking <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Is it simply time to get a new monitor or is there a way to fix the problem or increase the frequency HL can be run at?

There are refresh rate locking programs. I would give you URLs to some but I'm in a hurry right now, just google mkay?

Actually, thats not a problem with the monitor: Thats your eyes being too fast for 60hz. Try bumping it up a bit.

Try adjusting the horizontal moire.

Degaussing and overiding the refresh rate in my display properties solved it.

I'm sure using r_displayrefresh set to whatever refresh rate your monitor will use will solve this problem.
