My Monitor Screen Shakes When Set To 60hz

Fixable or just a sign of old age?
Ok, ive had this CRT monitor working fine for about 3 years, but now whenever its set to 60hz it starts shaking horizontally. Naturally, i always use 85hz for my desktop, but Half-Life is locked to 60hz so i can no longer play NS without it shaking
Is it simply time to get a new monitor or is there a way to fix the problem or increase the frequency HL can be run at?

Degaussing and overiding the refresh rate in my display properties solved it.
