Gamecube Component Inputs?

anyone have them for their TV?
Anyone here bothered w/ Component input on their Gamecube?

I'm lucky enough to have one of the old gamecube models that still has the required port for the things, so I'm considering picking up a cable, however since support for it was dropped the cables are hard to come by.

Luckily the official Nintendo web site still sells em, and turns out for cheaper than any online retailer or eBay. They're still $30 though, so before I bought them I figured I'd check here and see if anyone else thinks they're worth it.

So, thought?

No. When I first fired up Metroid Prime: Echos and realized that you could do that I went looking for them (we had revcently bought a 57" TV). I couldn't find them anywhere.

Always wondered what that port was for.

Turns out they're actually backordered on Nintendo's website... Damn. Time to start calling places tommorrow.. heh

Lik-Sang also has them for $35. Does anyone have any experience w/ that site? I mean its a pretty popular one from what I understand, its just that I don't entirely trust a site whose specialty is (or at least was) modchip imports...

You mean Nintendo has removed them from the more recent GC models?

If I would've known that I might not have sold mine...

Yeah, that's part of the reason they were able to drop the price so much...

No no. thats composite, the yellow wire contains all the video signals mixed together and they interfere with eachother making it fairly low quality. The red and white are left and right audio. Component video used 3 wires for the video in addition to the two for sound, separating out the parts of the video signal that would otherwise interfere with eachother and allowing for a higher quality image.
