Ds-metroid Prime Hunter
Ok,despite fact I wasn't going to,I bought a DS.
It ain't half bad,except for one thing.
The demo of Metroid Prime Hunters,which I eagerly looked forward to playing,turned out to be very hard to control aim-wise. You have to look aim with the touch screen and it's very jerky.
This is A BIG MINUS FOR THE GAME!! Imagine having to stop moving to aim a touch screen in a high-pitched battle. It'd be totally lame.
Anyone else feels this disappointed over the demo is my question? (I hope there's an alternative pad option to aim in the full game) I certainly was. The rest was all good. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo--> <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->

The best I found was using the stylus to aim and shoot but it had the downside of meaning you at least shot once to turn if you stopped touching the pad which sometimes made me waste missles :/
It's not bad for Mario DS. It took a while to get used to the thumbpad movement, but it's pretty good. The problem is that it's hard to get the centre of the screen while still keeping a firm grip with both hands on the DS - the sides are bulky enough to prevent your thumb reaching the middle of the touch screen using the traditional position. You can't adjust sensitivity to get around the problem, either.
Apart from that, I find it pretty intuitive, and a good idea.
tumbthingy to look around (yes, the thumb thingy not the stylus)
tap to jump (instead of to shoot)
shoulder to fire
I like the controlls, took me a few to get ussed to it but I do like it
off to work <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin-fix.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin-fix.gif' /><!--endemo-->
w00t w00t!
Any one a PT for it?
Will we see nukes again?
Its fun.
The thumb strap feels very natural, but doesn't allow you to aim or turn nearly as fast, so the stylus is definitely best. I also don't pause at all during intense fights. I can quickly do a 180, and other then that, I just keep the enemy in my sights so I don't have to do huge turns. It works just fine.
Guess I should really give it another go... I didn't really bother with it much the first time :o
QFT
I can't stand playing FPS on concoles (exept prime)
again nintendo wins!

This is by far the best control scheme. When the DS demo units came in, me and a guy who plays CoD religiously spent about 20 minutes messing around with multiplayer and exclaiming how much like a computer FPS it was and how easy it was to control.
I was confused about using the stylus but after 30 seconds I pretty had it all figured.
Now, its pretty much become second nature and seems the ideal method.
I was very interested to see how the controls would work when my friend Steve
started playing and he's left handed. Damn you Nintendo you've thought of everything!
The B,A,X,Y (is that right?) buttons acted as the D-Pad, and everything was simply
reversed.

The man speaks the truth. This is the only way to control for me. It's the classic Turok controls, and what I switched my GoldenEye and Perfect Dark controls to. Right Hand Moves and Shoots, whilst the left Aims and Jumps. The DL Control Style = Bliss.
